I bought the 223 about 4 years ago so it came first. I don't have a picture of it but I also own a mint Browning A Bolt in 223 and it's a wonderfully accurate rifle.
I also have a Browing A Bolt 223 rifle that is dead nuts accurate.

Just finished this one. Palmetto state armory upper and lower. Duracoated myself.
The lines on the rail have since been cleaned up. New pictures once it cures.

Grabbed one today at a hole in the wall sports store for $499. They had 3 in stock new. 18.5" predator model. Lovin the look. Threw a BS ncstar scope on for pics. Looks badass with the 30 round GI mag in there.

In case you were wondering, I've had to adopt this naming convention because when she says wants to shoot a particular weapon, she uses the names she assigned, and I have to know what they are so I can get the desired weapon out of the safe.

She should join the forum ... I think we would all enjoy her posts.
Oh, to answer the OP's question -- my AR-15 came first. I'll never forget that day -- the day after Obama election in 2008. Been buying on that anniversary ever since, with a few extra "non-anniversary acquisitions here and there. Picked up the 15-22 the first time I spotted it at our local Ace Hardware store. I forget the date, but it was one of the first models.

RRA ATH. I should have known that the M&P 15 22 would lead to this!
After a lot of research, I decided on this gun and I love it! Ready to rock right out of the box!

The M&P 22lr pistol was my entry drug. that lead to a M&P 9mm, then a black magpul addition M&P 15-22 lr, then a FDE Magpul addition M&P 15-22 lr then finally a bushmaster custom shop XM 15 (couldn't find an M&P 15 at the time).

My 15-22 preceded my AR15 5.56 by about a month.
Decided I wanted one of each about the same time, around the time the Pencil Neck Dictator and his Capitol Hill cronies began whining abou how I shouldn't be able to own one.
DPMS upper on New Frontier lower. Light and accurate.

The OP is amassing info on which members of this forum own scary black rifles! He's working for The Man.
I only have my trusty Red Ryder BB gun. Those black rifles are scary and evil!
Yes, Judge. That is my story and I'm sticking to it.

Have a Windham MPC for just about a year, totaly stock. Did purchase eight Magpul 30 rnd mags for her.
Ordered the 15-22 MOE/FDE back in January after seeing several at the local range. Love the idea of being able to shoot all I want at reasonable cost.

I got my 15-22 first (May of 2012) and I liked it so much that in July I put a Windham Weaponry SRC on layaway at Cabela's and picked it up in August of 2012. The AR-15 platform is just flat out fun.
It's funny how much I like my AR-15s when I prefer revolvers in a handgun.

The first rifle I bought was a S&W M&P 15-22. Loved it, and I still do.
I wanted something bigger so I bought a 5.56/.223 (Palmetto State Armory)
Felt the need for something a little bigger so I got a 7.62x39 AK47.
Then I wanted something BIGGER than that... so I bought a .308 Remington 700.
I'm done. Other than buying random pieces and throwing my money out the door for looks. I'm a sucker for a cool/neat/pretty rifle.

15-22 / .223
For me it was the love of my M&P 15 .223/5.56 also owning a failure of rifle the elusive Mossberg 715t .22lr-
after spending alot of time clearing jams and swearing at my .22 and having a blast with my m/p 15 /.223 i decided to take the plunge and get a 15-22. I can tell you i have NEVER looked back.
I forgot how much Fun a .22 can be. I am now shooting through entire mags without a hitch.... EVER!
This .22 will eat any ammo "chambered correctly obviousley" that i feed it.--- Cleaning regiment is stringent though...
iI your on the fence, JUMP off and you will be happy-
take down and controls mirror the big brother-
Moss, Colt, and others are non extistent or false.
safe shootings
devilman-

My first rifle was the 15-22 with magpul furniture last summer, and LOVE it. But it's a gateway gun because just a few months later I bought a S&W MP15 Sport and LOVE that gun too. I, like many of you, love to research the **** out of things and thought "some day I'll buy a really nice AR". With the recent events I was concerned that I may not be able to buy another, so went ahead and bought a Black Rain Ordinance in January. I don't regret any of these purchases, actually I think they were very wise, and would recommend any of them. The 15-22 is great to shoot for cheap and closely match using an AR, good training. If you're just getting into rifles and don't want to sink a ton of money into it right away, yeah start with a 15-22. It's a great gun!

just picked up a sweet new RRA 5.56/.223 carbine today.got it dressed in magpul FDE parts and a nice 3-9x42 illuminated scope.my LGS has been great at getting mags, ammo, and AR's in general and even had some left handed RRA AR's too.i shoot lefty but opted for the right hand set up since i am used to shooting my 15-22.i just need to flip the safety selector over so i can operate it with my left hand but other than that i wont be doing anything to the RRA.

I bought the 15-22 after several 5.56 ARs.
It is cheaper to shoot and just as fun IMO.

Maybe you should have asked "how many 223/556 AR's do you own?"
I've owned various AR's since the 80's. The 15-22 came in a couple years ago.

The gophers are really going to hate the new addition(Sig p556). No more guess aiming on the really close ones.
