I'm in the market for a MP 15-22. For those of you that have shot both or maybe own both, does the Performance Center version shoot that much better then "regular version" and is it worth the extra price?

I'm really liking the MOE FDE version.:)

Thanks.

ill let u know tuesday when my Performance Center gets here,,, i think its worth it if u look as the cost of the stock,, the trigger and the barrel that u can not get in any other way,,, yeah i say go big or go home

you can most definately get the stock and the trigger without buying the pc model. from the few articles I have read the PC is no more accurate than the regular 1522's.

If I were to go with the Performance Center version, I would most likely replace the buttstock and pistol grip with Magpul products anyway. Its what I have on my Wilson Combat UT15 and a build I've done, and its what I prefer.

So I guess another question would be, is the barrel and the trigger on the PCversion worth the extra cost since I'd just replace the rest withMagpul furniture?

Ultimately I ended sending my PC back to S&W for accuracy issues. They returned it to me with a complete new upper and the trigger seemed better. I shot it enough to determine if it had indeed been fixed and it had. The groups closed up to meet or exceed my MOE version but not by much. BTW, if you ever want to shoot CCI Stingers, you can't in the PC. It has a tighter chamber and the manual specifically states as much. However, that is a relatively moot point for most people considering how much high and hyper velocity there is out there. Also, my PC would reliably cycle standard/match grade ammo just fine.
I still enjoy my MOE but I sold the PC to subsidize my new Sport and I've never looked back.
It's a tough decision to make for you. I'd go with the MOE myself but that's just me. I've got mine set-up just right and it runs on just about anything flawlessly.
Good luck in whatever direction you take!

I'd say the MOE is more than enough. I shot mine this weekend and out of 20 shots I had took my time on most and had about 10 centers shot out completely. The rest were all near the dead center. They were flinches. I'd say it's pretty accurate. I wouldn't spend the money for Performance Center.... But that's just me.

I was set on the Magpul version until I realized I could get the PC model for $120 more (basically the price of a RRA NM Trigger). Most people will say the PC is no more accurate then any of the others......that is not why I made my decision. The PC model has a fantastic trigger (I run JP reduced power springs on my .223 AR, it is not the same). I also wanted the longer fluted barrel and I prefer the VLTOR furniture to the Magpul. I have shot the standard 15-22 alongside mine, I am more accurate with my PC everytime (that could just be the difference in the triggers). For me, it was well worth the little difference in price.
