15-22 MOE FDE Availability?
I can't find these online and I really want one. Does anyone know when these will soon be available? Everywhere online says they are out of stock.
I'd really love to have one of these!

Search out gun shows in your area. I bought my MOE 3 weeks ago from a dealer at a Mempis, TN, gun show, and there were several others available. Good luck!

I wanted the MOE FDE so badly - I searched extensively online, and eventually found a couple - one in Kentucky, the other in Washington... then, on a whim, I called the LGS to check and they had a couple of M&Ps... the dude said yes, but only the standard version (I really wanted the A1 or MOE for the threaded barrel, the FDE would've been really cool). After calling all the other gun shops in a large radius, I called back later to see if maybe they had one with a threaded barrel (A1 version with suppressor), and they said yes! Shocking, since this was a different answer from my first call! Must have been a different clerk (?) So I went to the shop with intentions of purchasing the A1 version and was floored to see a MOE FDE hanging on the wall! Wow. Really? From the phone call, only a standard version was available... I go there to see the A1, MOE FDE (mine now), and the pink version!

Omster, that is awesome! I plan on checking out a gun show to see if I can find one and I'm asking a few shops if they can order one when they come in. I want it pretty bad, ha!

I can tell you that in SE Kansas there are no MOE's (black or FDE)at the gun shows. The most available version around these parts is the pink camo model, and an occasional Realtree camo model and the basic black.
You might get on Budsgunshop.com and have an email notice sent to you when those are back in stock. I've used this before on different things, works pretty well.

Yeah, I'm signed up for Buds to email me! If I don't find anything at this gun show, then I'll just wait or may cave and pick one of the normal ones up.

Brownells Alumahyde spray paint and a little care will make your M&P15-22 any color you want including FDE. This is called Coyote in the spray can.
This rifle has a Magpul FDE handguard and a Coyote spray painted pistol grip. Perfect match. The stock was labeled FDE but it's slightly different. Maybe I'll paint it. Maybe not.
Pistol grip is a standard M16A2 grip with the annoying finger thingie ground off, then painted. M16A1 grips are being sold at collector prices.
<--- Click to enlarge. No, that's not a M&P15-22.

I had been looking for a FDE MOE for a couple of months without any success. But week before last I happened in my local Sportsman Warehouse in Chattanooga, TN and there one was behind the counter. They had just gotten it in. Well it didn't last long, cause I bought it on the spot. Grinning all the way home.

I've called a few shops and they said that they have not heard anything from S&W for a long time and they are all sold out. I found that they have the normal ones with threaded barrels for $450. I may end up picking one up and then just buying MOE OD parts to make it a litte different. It may be my best bet!

Glad you were to able to find a MOE version, the Magpul upgrades easily make it worth the price over the A1 style barrel!

MOE FDE
Hey everyone. I'm new to the forum. I purchased one this past weekend at the range I shoot at in mooresville nc. Point Blank Range. They had a few left. They also have the black M&P MOE 15-22.But most were sold that were there waiting for customer pickup. I will post some pics when I get home tonight.

I actually caved and found a 15-22 MOE in black for $509 out of the door which was awesome! I can always paint the parts if I want. Of course, a few days later, Buds has the MOE FDE in stock. So, if you're looking for one, go get it! I figured I'd pass this on for others to grab them up: Smith & Wesson M&P15-22 MOE 22LR 16" FDE $533.00 SHIPS FREE

The FDE MOE version of the M&P15-22 is definately the most visual pleasing model. I initially bought the standard version when they first came out. A year later I upgraded to the A1 model then saw a black MOE and had to have it. But seeing a photo of the FDE version I had my dealer order one and 3 weeks later it arrived. My other M&P15-22s all went to friends who are quite happy with them, and we never get confused as to who owns which version at the range. Even though I had a half dozen black 25 round magazines I ordered another half dozen FDE ones. This last M&P I will hopefully be keeping for a long time.
