M&P 15-22 Performance Center Enhancements

Hi,

I am new to the forum and to S&W, and to AR style guns, and I need some advice. I just bought the 15-22 performance center version.


I read one of the posts and it suggested replacing the spring. Would someone please elaborate and tell me exactly what to change out and why, and where to buy the parts? Does this even apply to the performance center version?

Also, I would like more than a 10 rd magazine. Which do you recommend? Will they work on the performance center version?

Is there a way to make the magazine release ambidextrous?

Which red dot sites would you recommend? ? Burris or ?

I would really like a squeeze activated laser...which one?

The barrell has groves on the outside Are they to attach something or to cool the barrel or ?

Anything else I should change or upgrade?

Hi,

I also have the Performance Center version and have been very happy with it.

To answer some of your questions:

The "spring" people are talking about is a hammer and trigger spring. The PC version already has a lighter trigger than the other models. The stock PC trigger breaks around 4 1/2 pounds (much lighter than the other versions). I would leave the trigger alone.

You can use the Smith and Wesson 25 rd replacement mags. Other manufacturers won't fit.

For red dots, I highly recommend PrimaryArms.com. I was set on buying a Burris 332. I found out that Burris does not actually make it and Primary Arms sells the exact same 3X illuminated reticle scope for half the price.

The fluted barrel is to help cool it (and for looks).

Welcome to the forum Gun Doctor :D ..... There are a lot of knowledgable members here so I'm sure you will get most of your questions answered in short order. About the only thing I can help you with right now would be the 25rd. mags., the best place to purchase these are through a place called 44mag.com, I believe they are selling for $17.99 plus a flat rate shipping of $5. Hope this helps.

There is a PLETHORA of Optons and info on this forum.... plan yer UPGRADE/OPTION directions and EVERYONE will help you..

I Personally Like my Reflex Site... Dont really use my 3x9 Scope much... Most my shooting is for Zombies and reactive Balls and close range FUN...

AFG (angled fore-grip) is most comfortable to me... some like VFG, i also have one of those.
UTG Rubber Rail Guards are nice and Add some Nice Looks..
Slide fire Stock.. is for FULL RETARD Mode... check out vids if ya havent seem em...
I dont have a Lazer or Light so OTHERS can direct you there

Purchase about 10 more MAGS:D.. I have 19 and 2-50rd drums.... Oh and LOTS OF AMMO.. 44mag.com for Mags
