Finally had a chance today to run some CCI standard velocity rounds through the M&P15-22 with the Gemtech. Love it, and as you can tell my daughter was pretty tickled with it too. Suddenly I am overwhelmed with just how loud the hammer and bolt actually are.
It is so quiet that you can hear the difference on last round bolt hold open.
Worth every penny, and all the time waiting!!

I still giggle like that when I shoot mine, it does not go away with time. Wait until you try it on a bolt gun.

Now if I could only get her to stop blinking every time she pulls the trigger. Doesn't matter what she shoots, she blinks every time. Silly girls! Still manages pretty good groups though. She was holding under 1" groups at 100YDS with the .17hmr today, and it was pretty windy.

Once you shoot .22 LR suppressed it's hard to go back.

If it wasn't for the good fishing in MN, I'd move to another state where supressors are allowed....

I am so jealous.

Its been a long time since I have shot a .22LR without a silencer. And I still get that smile on my face every time I pull the trigger.

sweet, my Pilot is a little louder with standard CCI's. sure those weren't sub sonics? that's what mine sounds like with them. we can now hunt with them here in AZ, well in a couple months, 90 days after Jan signed the bill, plus unlimited magazine capacity now also due to all the illegals on the border, didn't want to leave us hunters with only 5 rounds to deal with 10 aliens!!!! they are fun though, get her one for a real AR and watch the smiles!@!!!

Nice video. This vid gave me even more reason to visit a local Class III dealer today to ask questions about getting a suppressor of my own. The guy and gal there were very helpful, so I'm starting to save up for one.

My oldest boy has a 15-22 and is pretty good. Just ordered a BSA dot sight for his little brothers. They're twins so it will be cool to watch them duel it out with their Cricket.

I started the twins out when they were 3 - now they're 6.

It goes bye so darn fast.

Most are threaded 1/2 x 28, once in a while 1/2 x 20, or 1/2 x 32.

The M&P is already threaded 1/2-28 which is standard muzzle thread for small caliber AR's. $200 tax stamp and about 120 days plus the cost of the suppressor and your good to go. Gemtech does have a threaded spacer to set the muzzle at the correct back spacing inside the unit.
If you want to swap it over to other things like a Sig-Sauer Mosquito there are threaded adaptors to mount it.
I run the same Gemtech Outback IID on two M&P 15-22 rifles, one M&P 15-22P, and a Sig Mosquito.

i went another route and got a Pilot and an Outback for my .22's and then a Sand Storm in .308 to run on my .223's on up. i think it's an excellent set up.
Funny thing is, everything has gone up in price, guns, ammo, etc, but that dang tax stamp is still $200. glad it has not kept up with inflation. it should just go away as it really is not that much of income according to the ATF NFA guys i talk to. last time i checked they only had 10 people working the NFA section to do all the paperwork.

it is kinda like they put the "profiles", limited duty, FMLA type guys on there for gophers and the 10 are actually ones that wanted to do it.
they are broken up by sections in the US and then they have their NFA dealers broken down alphabetically. the store i buy from agents name is Susan. You can get their names and desk numbers off the NFA site.

just don't bug them too much or they will put your paperwork at the bottom of the pile. i usually call the desk at about 6 weeks after they cash my money order, then monthly after that. last one took about 3 months but my first took almost 7!
they definitely have a workload but with instacheck i can't see how it can take that long really.

in Europe some countries like Scotland, Ireland, portions of Germany and Austria it is illegal NOT to hunt w/o a suppressor. i was stationed in Nurnberg from 88-98 and went to Scotland about 4 times a year to visit a buddy who is the game warden on an "estate"! what a job! he harvests the big "beasts" is what they call them (red stag) and hunts fox with a silenced .204. Amazing that he had to pay A LOT for the gun and permits for it, but a can for it is only about $50 right down the street at their version of a 'Sears'.

almost everything from .223 on down is 1/2x28 and .308 and up is 5/8x24 but like said above you can get an adapter for anything. i prefer just the screw on the end type instead of the QD. I'm not switching out cans enough to justify that type of mounting system. Go with one that comes apart and is end user serviceable. my pilot is not, but i can get it pretty clean when i do clean it. they can be Jail broken where they take off the end, clean, service and repack and then put a removable end cap on so you can clean in the future, around $300 for that service, don't think i'll have it done since the can was less than that. the others i can media blast with walnut shells to get the lead off, but the center fires don't lead up like the .22's due to bullet construction, but it is nice to be able to take them apart.

Every .22 rifle and pistol I own(and my .17HMR) is threaded now....just doesn't sound right to me shooting without a suppressor anymore.

that can works for a livin', as do all the cans I have. That one is probably the hardest workin' one of the bunch. It's been dropped, submerged, and wrenched off, but still performs great. SWR cans are the best by far.

My bad on the eye protection. We had them on while shooting the .17hmr you see in the background. We took a soda break and never put them back on when we started up again on the .22. We ABSOLUTELY should have had them on. My bad

I envy you that live in "Free States" that allow you to enjoy suppressed firearms.
We also here in New York have a permanent 10 round magazine limit, which denies us alot of the new firearms, unless they come with 10 round magazines.
Before you say it...moving is not an option.
