Timny trigers
Has anyone put the Timney AR-15 Skeletonized triger in a S&W 15-22 and if they have how much better did it feel?
Thanks for your replies

I have a CMC 3.5# trigger in my 15-22 and it's night and day. Absolutely no comparison. It was the best upgrade I made to my 15-22.
I also have a Timney 3# in my AR. Clean, crisp, and light. For me, it was well worth the $$.
These triggers are in a completely different league than a milspec trigger...but they are not cheap and the extra cost is not easy for many to justify. For me it was. This is my primary hobby and source of enjoyment (aside from being with my family) so I can justify it. Other folks may not be able to for an occasional use plinking rifle.

Thanks for the info... Same here been shooting for most of my life but only ever had standard triggers in all my guns, but reading the forums it looks like the near standard practice these days is to change it.
Think i'll do just that at the end of the month
regards

The 15-22 and the 10/22 are the only ones I have changed out the total FCG on, but virtually every other firearm, pistols and rifles, alike have had the triggers/actions worked on to one degree or another. I haven't found a factory trigger that can't be improved upon.

The last one I shot was about 30 years ago and the trigger wasn't stock, so I don't know what a stock one was like. Probably good, as this was one of S&W's best pistols.
My High Standard Supramatic (1963 production) was worked over by the original owner, an AMU armorer, and when he was finished, the trigger broke (and still does) at 14 ozs. As good as the stock triggers were on these pistols, I doubt they were THAT good.

Having shot competitive bullseye in my younger days I am appalled at the horrible triggers that are considered "good" on stock pistols and rifles. Before you change triggers, decide what you are going to do with it. If you're playing Navy Seal wannabe games at 10 yards, you don't need a 2-3# trigger but if you're banging gongs at 300 yards, it is an investment that will pay for itself the first time you pull the trigger. Conversely, the quick reset trigger will be your new best friend if you're shooting paper at 10 yards. It's up to you to decide what you want and, more importantly, what you need.

If you want to shoot speed matches there is no substitute for the Geissele Super 3-Gun trigger.
