Default Scope arrived & installed

My new Nikon P-22 scope and QD mounts came in today. I have it all installed and the only complaint I have is that the end caps dont fit due to the low mounts. Other than that its great. Now I need to go sight it in, level it out and shoot sh....stuff.....

I would put a .5 inch low rise riser under that thing. It might even help with comfort and target acquisition.

Also, look at Tacticool22's or Beltfeds charging handle extension. BrettVista has a video on it in the stickies. Yours isn't rubbing is it? From the pic it looks very close.

Another good replacement charging handle is the one from NDZ.

S&W M&P 15/22 Custom Charging Handle & Tact Latch for all Assault Rifles

If not for Plinker Tactical's (sold by TactiCool22.com) ambidextrous lever, I would have gone with the NDZ.

Replacement or not, you need a 0.5" riser to get the scope off the rail and give some clearance to the charging handle. As presently installed, you are going to have problems pulling the charging handle.

Midway or Cheaper than Dirt for a start. Just about every supplier of accessories for the AR platform has them.

If you replace the rings, get the high version. The upside to using a riser instead of high rings is the metal riser provides a more solid "platform" for mounting the rings than the polymer rail does.

If you are not going to be doing combat-style shooting and/or similar matches, it may not make that much difference, either way.

I think ill try and locate a rail. I noticed there are various lengths. Do I just get one to go the length of the body or one that extends further?

There's no need to get one longer than the distance between the rings.
