Very Disappointed in S&W
I ordered 15-22 upper around 05/01/2012 ,upper was on back order. Ok , 4-6 weeks on backorders .I was send a postcard telling me was back ordered .Ok I'll wait on it. Call today, order was canceled .Because they don't sell uppers to the public . The rifle will have to send to them for replacement . My rifle is not broke ,just wanted a extra upper . Just in case .So guess thats not going to happen .

How were you able to put in an upper if they do not sell them to the public?
Where did you place an order for just the upper?

Rock River or many other companies will be glad to sell you a match grade upper. 60-90 day wait though. This could be fall out from CO.

Immaterial, as S&W deliberately made the dimensions on the lower slightly wider to preclude putting any other upper on the 15-22.

Order was taken by phone call to order dept. at S&W . Took my credit card information also. Said was on backorder would be shipped 4-6 weeks .

sounds like a case of customer service misunderstanding what you first asked for or just not knowing enough. people make mistakes, doesnt mean s&w customer service sucks.

Sounds like the customer service rep that you talked to provided you mis-information when you first submitted your order!
