First Post - First Time Out at the Range
First time out at the range with my new SW 15-22 and it ran great. Only mod is a Baraska scope. Shot about 200 rounds of CCI Tactical without any FTF or FTE. Accuracy was outstanding at 75' with 4" size groups with the occasional flyer. The rifle is obviously more accurate than me.
Ususally I shoot a variety of 1911's in different cals but this will come with me often and there is no doubt the cost per round beats a 45.
Also a thanks to all you guys out there as I lurked here often before making the buy. I appreciate your comments and critics in helping with my decision.
Best.

Welcome. It is a fun rifle, as far as AR style 22lr's go, it can't be beat.

Awesome bud!
I also shoot a 1911 and recently purchased the 15-22 to help mitigate 45ACP cost haha.
Look forward to get mine on Thursday!

Thanks alot for the welcome!
Hit it again today with my wife so she could join in the fun. Yesterday was with my sixteen year old son. They are funny, I want to shoot it often they want to go back to the 1911's. But back to the range. Again, 200 rounds zero FTF or FTE. I think it's a keeper. On to mods I guess.

I think we can all agree that the 15-22 and the 1911 are alike in that they are both very adaptable to personalization. I have a RIA 1911 that I switch between four different grip sets, had the slide engraved, modified the ambi-safety paddles and am going to upgrade the sights and drop in a match trigger. I've also tweaked and prodified my 15-22 with lights and lasers and sights (stock iron, red-dot and/or 3-12X40 tele), sling mounts, grips and I'm thinking about a bayonet mount(!). They are both most emphatically "MY GUN" and probably wouldn't feel right to anybody else...except my grandson and he always wants to shoot anything I own. His favorites out of all of my collection? The 1911 and the 15-22! I just love these things!

Small world as I also have an RIA 1911. For the price it's an excellent shooter. Wally World has Federal .45 100 packs for $29.97, about $10.00 less than their Winchester White Box. They shoot fine. I don't think the Feds are as dirty as some will say but I guess thats a personal opinion.
If you are into 1911s, have you checked out the GSG 1911 in .22LR? Again, for the price it's an excellent plinker. And saves a ton of dough at the range.
