All .22LR Ammo is gone?
My favorite .22LR ammo is FEDERAL CHAMPION.
I can usually find the 525 bulk box for $20-$25, but every store is sold out... Even online. They say backordered, anywhere from Feb 2013 to April 2013. I did find it at a couple places, but they wanted $15 or more for shipping.
What in the world is going on?!?!?!?!

There doesn't seem to be any real run on ammo going on right now. Don't know why you're having trouble.

Dicks said they have not been able to get a shipment of CCI ammo any way shape or form?
Maybe NATO is going .22 long rifle, just look how much each soldier could carry. 5000 rounds.

Talk building of a big "ammo tax" in the range of five cents a bullet. Anyone hear any of this scuttlebutt?

I usually get it AR Walmart. The get it a couple times a week but you have to get there at 7am as people are waiting to pick it up. I'm down to 4,000 rounds. Don't like getting that low...

There was a run on .223 after the election, and the Christmas shoppers are buying up some of it. I've got to where I mail order all my ammo.

Wal-Mart here is almost out of .22 as well. I was going to start stocking up, but all they has was two small boxes of winchester. No federal, or cci at all. They said they usually have more than they can keep on the shelves, but the last week it has been going like crazy.

I couldn't find bulk 22lr ANYWHERE in SoCal up until today. I tried 5 Walmarts which are normally loaded with 22... all the bulk was gone, only had the small packs of specialty 22, of course they were fully stocked in centerfire.... I finally found some at Turner's when I went to pick up my 15-22. They had the Fed 525 for $17 so I picked up 2 to last me until my order comes in. All I have to say is ***? I finally get a 22 and there's no ammo. I'm trying to resist my inner hoarder and not exacerbate the problem others are creating by buying crate loads that will take me years to shoot. But after watching a couple people demolish the entire shipment...

The CCI 1600 rd boxes are gone everywhere I've checked - 4 wal-marts and online.
Cabelas has 1400 rd boxes for about the same price, though.

Was at my local Cabela's today and they had Federal and every other breed of .22LR in abundance! I was after .45 ACP and 9mm for my pistols but also got a box CCI Tactical because it was on sale. They even had ammo cans of 2100 rounds of Federal (?) stacked up. You must just be hitting a "dead spot" like cell phones do sometimes.

My Wal Mart has been out of Federal bulk 22LR and 9MM Federal 100 box for over 2 weeks. The person working there said he had no idea when they would get some in. Looks like to me that they are trying to withhold ammo from us. Not sure the who is, but beleive it's happening.

Plenty of it down here in SE AZ. I've got a CZ 452 bolt action with a ten round magazine. Takes a while to shoot up 100 rounds, plus I'm a leftie and have to reach over to operate the bolt. I'm happy with my 500 round stash.

My local Wal-Mart has been out of 22LR since at least mid-October(when I started looking for it).
I'm taking a first-time shooter to the range next week, and want to start him out with 22s before we move to centerfire. I'm down to about 75 in my last Federal bulk pack, so finally broke down and bought a couple of the Remington 100 boxes(which are in stock).

Try the tractor supply type stores. I walked into a "Rural King"
store today and they had 8 boxes of the Federal 525 packs
on the shelf at 19.99
I bought two.

LGS here in Central PA just had CCI Blazer at $149.00 per case of 5,250 rounds and it was stacked to the ceiling. Plenty of Federal there as well.

I cannot find the Federal at Wal-Mart but I was in Gander Mountain today and they had 4 shelves full. It was on sale for $19.99. I had some problems at Gander Mountain on Black Friday so the store manager sold me two boxes of the Federal Champion 525 rounds for $9.99 each.

Its getting to be slim pickings in my area. I am shifting my ammo shopping to online, much less of a headache. PSA has free shipping over $50 right now I think.

Might be a Wal-Mart thing here in Charles Town (then Charles Town is a mini store and usualy doesn't have S*** for anything) and Martinsberg .22 is slim pickens since they last had the CCI 1600 pack. Just went buy both on Friday.

People are hoarding the 22lr because its cheaper than buying up the centerfire. Plus anyone can still put meat on the table with a 22cal.
For the best average mail order prices go to; gun-deals.com - User-Submitted Gun & Ammunition Deals and click on ammo-deals then on 22lr. The average prices on 5,000rds of 22lr was about $199 at ontime. I went with the CCI blazer 22lr ammo mainly because some of the other 22cal ammo has misfires.
I've seen the shoppers at wally world buying up bricks of 22lr as many as they could carry. When they had it in stock.

It would be nice if, when you folks say xxx company is out, that you'd say WHERE. Otherwise, the information is pretty much useless.

ALL the 22lr is gone from the shelves at my local WalMarts..I have 6 within a 25 mile radius here in Houston....and when I say ALL, I mean ALL...I made the rounds yesterday to the 6, and the cupboards were bare....NO 22lr ammo available, and when I asked, they said, "When it shows up, we put it on the shelves, but we don't know when it will show up"

Everyone keeps saying WalMart is out - have you folks tried your local gun stores? WM isn't the only ammo retailer in the world.
