Anybody with a green 15-22...
...use Magpul foliage green furniture? I think it would look nice but am not willing to spend the money to try it without seeing it first.
First post btw... I have a new mp15-22 and a really old smith revolver that I would also love more info on. I really want a shield but you know how that goes at the moment.
I've been lurking for a while because of the great info contained here.
Thanks,
Pig

welcome to the forum. i have OD green furniture (waiting to go on).
maybe you tried it already, but i just googled "ar-15 foliage green" and a bunch of examples showed up that i think would give you a pretty good idea of how the combination looks.

I've looked through most of it... There are pics of the green 15-22 that you can buy at Academy with magpul foliage green furniture? I must have missed them... Well thanks! I'll look again.

Lol yea. I was painting digital camo ACU. Bought khaki, deep forest green and olive (olive in kylon)...the paint didnt want to stick so alot of spots looked airbrushed faded, and the greens are damn near identical (very minor difference)...so I covered up the green/khaki with the same exact green haha...big fail..oh well..guess I will live with it until I can afford hyrodip.

Sounds like a prep problem. One needs to remove any and all oils, cleaners and other such stuff from the polymer before painting. It also is best to use a polymer-specific primer first.

Yes, It is "sorta" OD green. It doesn't match any of the companies' OD green though. I just pulled the trigger on some black as I had talked myself mostly out of trying foliage green anyway. I am one of the few that like the FG though and may end up with it on one of my other ARs.

ah, ok. i found some pics of the rifle you are talking about. sorry, i didn't understand your question. it is neat that they come that way. is the rifle molded in green polymer? or is it just a painted finish?
i couldn't find any with the combo you want. i wish i knew how to photoshop.
i had gotten a good deal on used OD furniture, otherwise i would have gone foliage green as well.

I love the gun... I'll post some pics when I get my furniture in. I think it's molded in green but there is some black on the inside of the mag well so I could be wrong.

I have the OD Green 15-22. It's od green polymer, but appears that the black is redipped in OD for a thin layer. If you scratch it or wear occurs such as on the rail, the wear marks are black. The OD is very thin. Actually, it may be painted with some sort of OD Green polymer. As mentioned above, the inside of the rifle, FCG, bolt area, is all black.

That's interesting. I had assumed (I know, I know) that the color was in the polymer not on it. I don't know why I thought that because the RearTree camo model is only surface colored.

thanks for the info. too bad they didn't cerakote it or give it a more durable finish.
still would be a cool to have a limited run rifle like that.
