I don't want to call it a "compliant" model... S&W calls it that man!!
read your posts, you are the obligatory pot calling the kettle black round here Majorik. It's rarely "the end of discussion" with you, you'll have more to say I'am sure.

Yes! I use my 15/22 as a kind of survial tool also.
I have a 033 with cap. Inside the tube is a samll Maglight Fashlight wrapped in duct tape. Can't ever have to much tape.
Also a very small bottle of CLP, and a cleaning cloth.
The Handgrip has a DPMS cap. It carrys a little bic lighter, and some wipes for fire starting. My VFG carrys 20 rounds of ammo where the batteries would go. All are water tight and go where the rifle goes.
If I was walking in the woods and something happened. I at least I would have a flashlight, a means to start a fire, and some extra ammo.
But thats just me. Let hear some other ideas on what to carry, in the three easy places to carry stuff. Also there are aftermarket butt stocks that will let you carry more stuff.

Some have the plug, and some don't. Maybe with this thread we can figure out what S&W was thinking.
Do the people who don't have the plug have any restrictions in their state? (no threaded barrels, no adjustable stocks, limited capacity mags)
I have a feeling S&W figured they don't need them on models with pinned stocks, so they just left them off all the restricted models period.
Mine is a (033) with no restrictions of any kind. Mine came with a plug.

That and why is it on the inside tube and not on the outside on the butt pad to keep stuff out or things in ?

It's not on the buttpad because the adjustability would prevent anything from being stored in it.

I can store a bore snake in the tube just fine. No need for the buttplate to have a plug.

It looks like this tube-plug thing is becoming another arcane bit of gun lore like the endless discussions about the shape of S&W revolver cylinder release buttons or Colt hammer spurs. Mine has a plug and Kansas is naked of stupid restrictions on magazines and stocks. I'm confident that it's just a matter of what they had in the bin on the assembly line at the time a particular gun was built but if it amuses people (no plug-haters, please!) then great, everybody have a good time!

Two pages, and no jokes associating the lack of butt-plugs for states with restrictions? C'mon guys... :-P

I wonder if the butt plug he sent you was used... since it was just sitting around...

I "lost" mine and so I stuck one of those plastic thingys that go over the small sprayer of an aerosol hair spay can. It turns out (esthetics wise) to be "Mind over matter - I don' mind it doesn't matter."

Mine has the plug, and I guess I could be to blame for starting the plug dispute on the other thread, but I have to wait til I get home tonight to see what model I have. I was thinking about what would work well as another option though. Best I came up with was, rub a little Vaseline around the inside of the tube, put some Saran-wrap over the tube than push it inside the tube with your finger so it makes sort of a cup inside the tube. Fill it with black silicon and smooth it out flush on top. While it's still wet stick something in it for a grab-tab. Let dry for a few days to cure on the inside. Once it's dry pull it out and pull the Saran-wrap off the plug. The silicon should take perfect shape, and if you leave a small coating of Vaseline, it will help make the tube a little more water resistant. Just an idea.

K guys, sorry for giving such a good setup, but it would probably be most professional to stay away from the plug jokes. It has the possibility to offend someone.

Don't really see why it would offend someone. There is a reason they call jokes, jokes. For all we know S&W probably calls it butt plug also in their offices/shops. Backin the shop where I work we have all sorts of names for random objects haha

I agree, but read through the posting rules and some jokes fall outside the code of conduct. There has already been jokes removed so obviously it wasn't quite appropriate. 'twas a good one tho

I also have an 034 that came with no BT plug. A complimentary one is on it's way from S&W. The guy I talked to seemed nice enough, and knew exactly what I was asking about.

I'm sure there's a lot of calls they're getting from this forum. I bet they're confused on why they're getting all these calls from people asking for "this plug at the end of the buffer tube" lol. Makes me feel like calling just to apologize, maybe I will, and ask for a spare just in case.

My joke was removed and I was warned for it being against forum rules regarding crude/vulgar posts. It was a play on words, and a REALLY good one. But whatever.
