New Owner in PA
Last week I scored a M&P15-22 - A1 Style Comp. Found it online from a honest dealer selling at a great price plus a 5% discount and free shipping. Can't wait to pick it up tomorrow (1/8/13) from a local FFL. Now if I can only find some extra mags at a fair price. I have some on order from Smith and Wesson but who know it the order will be filled. Now off to search this forum and learn all I can!!!

Welcome! There's plenty of helpful information here on every topic and the people are some of the nicest.
I'm afraid you're SOL for a while on the mags, but you can still find some ammo around at a reasonable price.

Are any mags hard to find or is it just the 25 rounders? A local shop had a handful of the short 10s in stock when I was there Friday afternoon. I bought 3 long 10s and a short 10. Maybe I should go back.

It takes about two minutes, if one is slow, to convert a long 10-round magazine into a 25-round magazine.

You could make a hefty profit on those shortys. It's really all magazines now. Like Major said, the 10 to 25 round modification is very easy to do.

Thanks, now looking forward to getting out a shooting this. I hope all the hysteria clams down and mags become available again at a reasonable price. I do have some ordered but I am beginning to doubt that those orders will ever be filled.
