Default Understanding sights

I've been searching and reading the stickies but since this is my first rifle and the first gun I ever wanted to tweak I'm not up on the terms or concepts.

I just received this sight:
Sure Shot Reflex Holographic Sight Sightmark Black 3 MOA Dot Inside 65 MOA Circle Rapid Target Acquisition

And this laser/light combo:
UTG Multi-functional Compact Laser/Flashlight, Weaver Mount. Flashlights & related items.

Forgive me but I still haven't fired the thing as I've been traveling but now I'm looking at the Magpul MBUS Flip Up Sights from Cheaper Than Dirt.

Now here is where I'm getting confused.

1. I haven't fit it yet but would/does the Sightmark go in between the stock sights? Wouldn't the image on the Sightmark be big or awkward trying to sight with the stock sights? This is the cosighting term right?

2. Say I switched to the flip up sights, do I sight them, the laser and the Sightmark to the same distance?

3. Do you use the flip up sights with the Sightmark on and or off?

If I did miss any threads on this due to not knowing all the terms, please point me in the right direction.

Thanks for the newbie help.

Here it the current setup with the magpul and the muzzle brake on:

Yes. The sight goes between the sights. Pretty much over the ejection port.

Yes they are sightly cluttered, which is why the drop down sights were developed, but it isn't too much of a hassle if you practice with it.

Yes they are all zeroed at the same distance, doing different ones is just a waste of time. Get them all zeroed for the same distance and you can use the same drop for intermediate distances.

The flup sights are there for when the dot sight fails. You can use them whenever you want but they are really there as a backup.

Here it the current setup with the magpul and the muzzle brake on:

1 - Yes, the Sightmark would go in between the stock sights. My preference is to place is as far forward on the receiver as possible.

2 - You CAN sight all of them to the same distance if you wish. Kind of depends upon where you can shoot (indoor range with limited distance for example). You could also try setting the laser at 25 yards, the Sightmark at 50 yards, and the iron sights at 100 yards. I'm sure lots of other people will have better advice on this than I do. (You can learn a lot here!)

3 - You can use the Sightmark with the folding sights up or down. If the Sightmark fails, battery dies, just pop up the folding sights and keep going. Do a search on co-witness for lots of information on this.

Welcome to the club!

Thanks for all the great feedback. I can't wait to get it all setup and take it to the range.

But dang this thing is addicting. So much for my plan to buy a .22 for a cheap hobby. I told my wife this wouldn't be near as expensive as my previous off-roading, motorcycle, and BMX hobbies.... Starting to look like I may be wrong again..

Thanks again for all the replies.

I bolted everything on this am and adjusted the sightmark and laser to rest on the top of the front pin. Granted that only sights it to about 50 feet but it should be good enough to get started at the range without hitting a wall or ceiling.

Now I need to stop buying stuff and go shoot the thing for the first time.
