We need a 17HMR M&P!!!
Ok, so with all the hoarding of .22LR I REALLY wish we had a way to shot something else, like 17HMR.... Any reason S&W couldnt step up to offer a different verion? or 22 Magnum?

What is the name of the .17 round Hornady came out with that was
a .22 LR necked down to .17?
.17 Mach 1?
Anyway, I think they will feed thru a .22 LR magazine. If so then an M&P15-22 upper re-barreled or a dedicated upper from S&W you could swap out should work.
I like the idea!

Of you could get yourself a full-metal, gas-blowback airsoft AR and be happy shooting in your garage until the ammo becomes available. :-D

Lots of probs with semi .17s. Ruger quit I believe along with Rem. I still have my Rem and love it. Lots of negs on Rems offer on the recall.

I think Alexander Arms has a .17 upper receiver they make. But yes that would be cool since I've seen plenty of 17 and 22 mag ammo around.

Yes. I would really be interested in a 22 mag or 17 HMR version. The 17 mach 2 not so much. I have a 17 mach 2 and it is very accurate, but I would really rather see the 17 HMR. That would be nice.

Alexander Arms has a dedicated 17HMR AR as well, but it's very pricey. $1,100.00 before the scare. My wife wanted one until she found the price.

The price of the .17 HMR ammo that I've seen recently is almost the cost of .223 ammo so there wouldn't be much cost benefit.

Yes, its pricey. I looked at it but when I saw the price, I decided I could wait or just shoot my 17 HMR bolt action instead.

I think you'd best check prices on 5.56 and 223. I'm buying .17 @ $10.97 per 50 normal ( $9 on sale). You find 5.56 at that, feel free to PM me. My last stash of the GOOD ( Lake City ) 5.56 was at 16 cents a round and that was many, many moons ago. Now, many are paying over $1 per round.

Read the warning on the Hornady site about .17 in semi-auto rifles.
