Install Flash Hider on 15-22?
Because I am close to being ignorant, I did not know until after I purchased it that the 15-22 could be bought with a flash hider installed. From reading I gather that a FH can be installed on a 15-22. I assume this would require threading the barrel, etc. Is this a complicated job? Is it something that is best left up to a competent gunsmith? Would I be better off selling my current 15-22 and just finding and buying one w/ the FH installed? Sincerely. brucev.

I'm new here, but I did find 2 threads that address this problem. You can have the barrel threaded or have one installed with a set screw, or adapter with a set screw..
I'm sure there are more threads, but the links below should answer some of your questions.
Any Ideas for a Flash Hider or Fake Suppressor?

Lemme think. There are only about twelve threads already addressing this. The search function can be your friend. ;-)

And also Bruce.... I did the same thing you did; I purchased an un-threaded 15-22, only to find out later that I could have got one with a threaded barrel, but my LGS only had the standard 15-22 so I just kept it. After reading some comments here, I think I'm going to send my barrel off to forum member Belt-Fed. I have a local gun smith, but I have some mixed feelings about him. Belt-Fed seems to have some very satisfied customers.

I tried the search function without success. I realize I am probably doing something wrong using this feature.
I appreciate the helpful responses that have been posted.
