15-22 Barrel Specifications
Would anyone happen to have a good quality print of the 15-22 barrel specifications?

There is no 15-22 designed for the .22 Long. Where did you get this idea?

All 15-22s are .22 LR only. There are only two barrels - the standard one and the performance center model and both are .22 LR only.

I will be very happy to find a schematic for either one.....

Sorry, I wasn't clear on what I mean. The performance rifle barrel is not a match for all long rifle ammo and will jamb. The rifles have completely different styles of chambers. I'm not sure if offered threaded and unthreaded barrels in both rifles. The performance center rifle has a Laney chambered barrel. Supposedly is the tru match rifle of the 2 for competitive events. Believe Mark Laney has the Patent, it details the way the shell casing end seals the chamber when fired.

Actually, the only difference between the two chambers is the PC model has tighter specs and won't take CCI Stingers.

They've already made at least one 15-22 barrel. Funny they don't already have the profile on file.

That's the idea. Not sure of the exact style yet. Just trying to determine the feasibility. Lothar Walther will make it, but like others who have posted, they tell me they need the specifications.

My guess is they do. But for some reason, they told me they need the drawings. If the previous work was for S&W directly, I would assume the spec's are proprietary.

Will disassembly of UR rifle and sending M the components to be made thru reverse engineering, as long as the Laney is not being infringed upon work for U. They may be licensed to reproduce better than production barrels ? U may be suspect of wanting to sell copies ? This won't end up good or a good thread possibly. Companies do not like it when their new products are copied. By new I'm relating to their latest products not ones made 25 years ago.

I have no interest in the creation of a product for commercial resale. I suppose a drawing could be made from an existing barrel, but I've not reached the point where I would consider that an alternative. I would like to find a copy of the S&W drawings, but am not sure they are available. Hence the reason for starting this thread.

If Lothar doesn't already have the drawings, I seriously doubt S&W is going to provide you or them with a set of drawings. Most likely you'll need to send them your barrel, as has Ben already mentioned, as a pattern.

That is a viable option. Thanks.

Even if they make you a barrel (like or similar to Jerry's) the rifle still won't be capable of true precision target shooting. Mainly due the the way the rifle is put together with polymer receivers. Jerry did not have his made for that either, but for exhibition shooting. I think he wanted a heavier profile to have a different balance. He could have done it by just installing a heavier metal handguard but then it would not look close to stock. I am not just guessing on that point about keeping the stock look but the actual why is only something Jerry knows.

Lothar rep told me that they must have a drawing, a physical barrel won't work.

That's lame, I would have been willing to loan out one of my barrels to get something made.

I'll be keeping an eye out for information if someone comes up with an alternative. I would love a 1:9 twist barrel for properly stabilizing 60 gr Aguila SSS.

Just shoot them out of an AR with a CMMG conversion. That would be perfect for the Aguila SSS rounds.

I've considered that, but I think it'd be fun to have it in the 15-22. I'd also need to buy an AR-15 for the CMMG to be useful.
