I just received a 404 - Document Not Found and after installing it it's still a tad bit loose. I can move it forward/backwards slightly. It's like the spaces in the 15-22 rail are slightly too large, or the Magpul screw is slightly too small in diameter. Anyone else have this problem? How do I fix it? I can't stand anything loose, and the sloppy stock will be the next thing to go.

It should fit fine, make sure you have a wide enough flathead, I had that issue with mine when I used a normal screwdriver, but I switched to a wider thicker flat head and it tightened up just fine.

Well, the screw is metal and the grip is plastic, so I'm worried about tightening it too much and cracking the plastic.

Your problem is you haven't tightened the screw enough. You are not going to crack the AFG.

You are tightening down the main screw, and not the Allen screws holding the two halves together, aren't you?

I tightened the **** out of it. It got a little better, but it still moves. I'm going to take it apart and run some sandpaper a few times on it and just tighten down all the allen screws once I have it where I want it.

ETA: I can't say cr-ap?

No, it's not cra*. It's a well made product that performs well when properly installed.

I think you are doing something wrong. All the Allen screws do is snug the two halves down. It's the large, slotted head screw that lockers it in place and it DOES have to be tight. I have one on each of the three 15-22s I have purchased and hadn't problem getting them tight in position.

Use PVC cement!

I hope you aren't serious, do NOT use any adhesive on it. The screw is all that you need.

It's possible some flashing is left from the molding, so sandpaper may help.

I wonder if it's actually a Magpul - or one of the many 'clones'?

That latter statement is a real possibility if he bought it on eBay.

I bought it from Amazon, and Amazon was the seller. It arrived in the Magpul sleeve box.

No flashing, but 1 pass with the sanding block and now it's nice and snug. I don't know if the rail on my 15-22 was slightly out of spec, but it's good now. Or, I could have just not tightened the screw enough in fear of breaking it. It even says in the instructions to not over tighten.

I never said the grip was cra*, I said I tightened the cra* out of that screw ;)

In any case, all is well and the sucker is solid. As you said, it is a quality part. Now to order a new stock to get rid of the factory stock slop.

Hi there OP, my AFG fits fine.

Now the hand stop kit I purchased had some wiggle. So I put a small piece of electrical tape on the rail, put it the hand stop on and screwed it on tight. No more wiggle and it is solid now.

Try that before doing anything foolish with cement...

Edit: i just read you got it on fine, disregard.

Yeah I would never use cement on it. I can't believe someone would actually suggest that.

My apology about the cra* comment. I misread the post.

No sweat :)

So while I'm here, is the extra $20 worth it for the locking stock vs the regular MOE one? I cannot stand any slop or wiggle at all, so I'm leaning toward the CTR locking one.

As far as I am concerned, the extra is well worth it. I have one on mine and love it. The plain MOE is no tighter than the factory butt stock in most cases.

Since you ordered it from Amazon and they are the seller, send it back for a replacement. Doesn't cost you a thing other than going to the local UPS store to drop it off.

I was looking for the CTR as well , does $75 sound about right ?

Problem already solved.

Yes, $75 sounds about right. Things add up quickly!
