Dang i love Arizona! No CCW permit needed, no registration, legal suppressors, legal to hunt with cans, no round restriction (i use a 20 rd mag when hunting), except for migratory birds, shotgun limit 3 rounds (Federal) and 5 for hunting anything else. plus we can now hunt within city limits with shotguns and within the laws of normal hunting (1/4 mile from occupied dwelling, etc).

Love the land in TN, but your laws suck!

roadkill45, things like that make me want to move back to my hometown.
Tucson is just a little too close to the border. It used to be so nice to go hunt in the desert, now you have to have a buddy along.

well not really. i go all over the state predator hunting from the Rim down to Suarita right on the border. i have only had one incident with a run it with some invaders from the south and that was over some water, it ended well, they just had to split the extra bottle i had. i GPS mark where they are and call the BP.
the badlands are down by Nogales and the areas that they posted no entry to. IDK if those rules are still in effect or not. I'm on the other side of the state from Tucson but always take my gear when i go hit the VA there once a year.
great pred hunting down there and actually a LOT cooler than where i'm at now.
dove season starts tomorrow and i'll be out there in shorts and T shirt with a bird vest and Aussie hat. You will see the California guys out there with full camo on sweating their collective butts off thinking the bird can't see them.
i'll be out by 0600 and done by 0700 limit out. got the next two weeks off as my annual dove season vacation and my freezer will be overflowing by the 15th!

I had a local privately owned range guy ask to see my paperwork on a couple of cans, a couple of years ago.

I showed him what he desired, but I have not been back to that particular range since; nor will I ever return.

Kinda feels like Christmas today. I called the BATFE today and found out my stamp was approved on 8-15... almost 7 months to the day from check cashed & 6 months to the day from pending.

Can't wait until my dealer notifies me. This will be my first experience ever of shooting suppressed & so looking forward to it. My home range is nearly completed and all 3 of my 22s now have threaded barrels.

Congrats!!!!!

The wait is killing me on mine, but it'll be fun when all said and done.

Have fun with it!

Congratulations!

Do you think you're going to stop at one .22 suppressor while you have 3 threaded hosts? NFA is crack.

Yep, crack that you have to wait a year for...start submitting a form every month and eventually start getting back a stamp once a month...

I think so, but who knows once I start using it. The way I (we) shoot, is always one at a time, so my thinking is, one is enough.

i'm telling you one .22 can is not enough! especially once you clean it, that takes awhile, you need another 2 in the rotation while cleaning the others.
it really is addicting. and like i had posted before...exactly 6 months from pending is the going rate. i have until around the end of the month until mine come in.
have fun shooting, you won't want to leave the range, and the 'grin' lasts for a few days afterwards!

when your buds come over, it's kinda like you belong to a secret 'club' when you show them and they drool all over it. the Secret Silencer Society. gets me all warm and fuzzy!

You can't really go by what they say. The folks that answer the phone are just reading from a script. They told me the same thing when I called last month. When I called, she said to expect 9 months from pending, yet the thing was approved just a few days later.

Maybe I got in right before the big rush.

How do you clean yours? I have purchased a Thumler's Tumbler with stainless pins to clean my stainless 22Sparrow. From what I have read, it does a great job and doesn't take a long time. There is a discussion here on this board about someone doing it plus I read this one too.

They actually aren't that far off from their time quotes, and you did get in just before they changed to the 9 month time quote. Maybe it will only take 7 or 8 months for a little bit, but they expect it to hit 9 soon. Hopefully eforms will eventually help a little.

I am no longer thinking about suppressing... I am suppressed. Here is the 22Sparrow on my Buck Mark. Will be shooting the 15-22 a lot this weekend, trying different subsonic ammo with the suppressor.

Looks good. You should buy some CCI standard velocity by the case when you get a chance.

Hopefully SGAmmo will get things back to normal. We were buying 2-3 cases at a time $250ea... I don't expect that price to return but they had the lowest delivered price of anyone I had ever done business and what seemed like endless quantities.

I'm waiting on that ammo to come back in quantity. Last week saw a link here for 2 bricks of standard velocity for I think .08 each. Not horrible, so I have that being delivered tomorrow.

I have a few thousand rounds each of CCI subsonic, CCI standard velocity, CCI green tag and Aguila 40 gr subsonic. Have yet to shoot the Aguila in my 15-22, so curious how it will do. The CCI is great.

My dealer says you can take a pic of your form 4 & keep it on your phone and use that as your copy that is required to stay with the suppressor... for what that is worth.

Question for you guys. Are you required to have a copy of both sides of the form or just the front side with the stamp?

like i said, i have mine shrunk down, front and back copies and keep in my wallet. what if your phone runs out of juice right when they ask you for your stamp?? LOL
I also keep full sized copies in my hunting book that i have one for the ATV and one for the truck. contains all my maps, stamps, license, notes, directions, etc.
just easier when everything is in one place. plus one in storage in the gun if it has a storage spot.

The Aguila Match Rifle performs just as well if not better than CCI SV in my rifle. As a bonus, it smells like burnt pineapple. I didn't use it much because I could get CCI SV cheap (as noted previously). But at today's prices and availability the Match Rifle might be a good alternative.

I love grilled pineapple, so that is a bonus. I'll let you know my experience with the Aguila this weekend.

Shhhhhh. Don't tell everyone how phantasmagorical shooting a .22 LR suppressed is. They'll submit Form 4s and slow down the process even more.

Hi Guys,
I am a new member from the UK, and in the next week I will be the proud owner of a black 15-22 MOE. I have permission on my firearms licence for a .22 supressor (moderator in UK law) and I was going to ask on the forum what you guys reccomend?
However, doing a search first, I came across this thread and was really suprised how rubbish the US law is concerning supressors!! Here in the UK we are massively restricted on what we can buy in firearms terms, but a supressor is almost considered "good practice" as it reduces the noise to less annoying levels for nearby none-shooters etc.
I currently have a .243 Sako Finnlight with a T8 supressor that slides over the barrel like a shroud to keep the total length of the rifle quite short, and i was looking for something similar for the 15-22. Any reccomendations?
Great forum by the way, you guys inspired me to by the 15-22 ahead of the colt M4 .22 or the HK416 gsg clone. Love the picture thread

Oh, and just to annoy you guys in the USA, my supressor permission cost £27 and took 2 weeks . Thats less than $50.

On the downside, I had to fly to Las Vegas to shoot an AR15 clone, us brits cant be trusted with a semi auto larger than .22

Jim, I made color photocopies front and back, stamped them COPY, then laminated them. I keep them in the range bag. I also have a BuckMark and it is epic with the can!

I walked into a shop and put down a stack of money and walked out with a .22 suppressor. No wait. Heck I ended up giving that one away to one of my friends, I forget who. I'm waiting on my ASE USE QD suppressor for my semi auto Saiga in 7.62x39. Living in the former colonies has it's advantages

The downside is the local currency is R10/$1 and R16/£1

Some parts of Georgia already have similar laws.

Default Where can I buy one

Hi guys , where can I actually purchase a suppressor , are they sold online . I'm from the bahamas and our laws are similar to the uk. We can have shotguns and rifles , no limitations on the magazine , just takes a really long time for the license to be approved

Don't know your laws but here, they can be purchased online however it can't be shipped to you. It has to go to a "special" dealer that is registered for such items. When you buy online, you incur an additional wait, as the government has to approve the transfer to your local dealer. Quickest way is to purchase locally from someone who has inventory.

You may want to look at non-American suppressors. While they do have some magic makers there, their export requirements are rather daunting (although you can get an export permit without TOO much trouble).

One outside the USA company that may help you is Ase Utra Sound Suppressors | Ase Utra They make really good suppressors, and you don't have to worry too much about ITAR.

There are a while host of other manufacturers you can use as well.
