Friends with same 15-22
Since I've picked up my 15-22 MOE a month ago I have had it out plinking a few times and I'm very impressed with this piece overall. Now one of my good friends has bought one and 2 more friends are picking up one next weekend. I think I may grab another one as well since my daughter has claimed ownership to this one (she has me wrapped around her trigger finger). I really like the idea of my friends having the same rifle, now I get to experience their set ups and the pros and cons each time we go out. There are many good factors that go along with multiple people you run and gun with having the same rifle. Mags, parts, sight options, grips, etc...

Thanks! I've been hanging out a while and reading a lot of good info. Thought I'd throw some thoughts into the forum for a change

Welcome.
Go ahead and buy the 2nd 15-22,you will not regret it. With 2 boys and myself shooting I have 2,it wasn't much fun sharing and waiting your turn with only 1 rifle and 3 people.

I agree, a great platform for comparing experiences with friends & fellow shooters, but still giving plenty of scope for individual customisation. My dad has converted from using a GSG5 to the 15-22 since he tried mine out, and there are at least another four shooting pals at my club who now own 15-22s.

They are great rifles and a bunch of fun at the range. I just like the idea that i have something cheap to shoot in the AR platform. Very good to keep your training up and ur ammo expenses down.
Although its a nice weapon. I must admit its been dethroned by my Model 61 pump .22. I bring my 15-22 to the range and of course its just a 15-22. But when the Model 61 comes out, i cant keep people from asking me to shoot it. For some reason everyone wants to see what its like to be a kid again, lol.

My friends and I have taken the other tack. I have the 15-22 and they've bought Mossberg, Sig, Ruger, etc. it's interesting seeing which guns run and which stumble.
I can't think of a single downside to owning more than one 15-22.

I really considered the sig 522 but chose the S&W 15-22 do the the platform similarities of its cousins. The sig is a nice piece with great reviews though. I have a mossberg that's a good plinker but had to play around with the mags to cut back on occasional jams. I'm happy as a pig in slop with my choice though. I no longer look at a 30 round mag as $10.00 down range...

After seeing the Sig first hand and comparing it to my rifle, I'm happy with my 15-22.
