trigger parts problem
Hi Guys... i'm new to the forum and could do with some advise/help! I'm from the uk where there are not many sources of parts!! My M@P 15 22 had a trigger job done by my local gunsmith which went wrong ie either misfires , goes fully auto (not allowed over here!) etc I am trying to get hold of an original Hammer and slide spring to replace "altered" existing ones. have contacted S& W directly but have been waiting months. Does anyone have access to, or have any spare?? i could buy???
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks Dave

I note Midway UK has the CMC drop in trigger in stock. Since the OP is obviously looking for an improved trigger, since he had someone work on his stock one, this would be real nice. I have one on my 15-22 & my AR & just love it. If you read here, you will see where others here do also. No need for a gunsmith, as you simply pull out your existing trigger parts & then just drop in this one module.
CMC Triggers Tactical Drop-In Trigger Group Curved AR-15 Small Pin .154" Single Stage Matte - 91501 - Midway UK

Trigger assembly
I have the ALG-ACT set in my 300blackout and it is great. Hard to beat for the money, around $60.00

Slide spring??
Do you mean the recoil spring on top of the bolt?
Since the so-called gunsmith screwed up your FCG, it's HIS responsibility to replace it, and any other parts he damaged. If he refuses, it's time for the UK equivalent of small claims court!
MAKE HIM PAY, WHATEVER IT TAKES!

Supply of Goods & Services Act 1982: S13 work should be carried out with "reasonable care and skill" (i.e. to the reasonable standard of a professional gunsmith if using a 'smith representing him/herself as such).
Send 'em a letter stating the above Act and highlight the work that you'd contracted them to do, explaining that there is a fault and you are requiring that they put right within a reasonable time. Note that if you start tinkering to fix the problem yourself, it may jeopardise your being able to go back to the 'smith for a remedy later.
There's nothing harsh in this; I work in Trading Standards and it's simply a part of how consumer/business relations work - if the trader doesn't know that something's wrong, they can't put it right!

Agree completely with the above. DO NOT ATTEMPT ANY FIXES OR REPAIRS UNTIL YOU SETTLE THE ISSUE WITH THE SO-CALLED GUNSMITH.

Hi Majorlk
yes, the recoil spring on top of the bolt. and yes you are right as he is responsible and has the gun now to fix... but my motivations are greater than his and if i can get hold of correct parts faster, i am happy. parts supply here is near impossible. hence if any of you good people in the U.S can get hold of one its quicker than waiting for uk importers!!
