What better way to spend the day after Thanksgiving than with trip to the range - - followed by the blackening of a goodly pile of Q-tips and rags in the post-firing cleaning time?

Final tally: 400 rounds of M22 and Aguila fired. Only one malfunction; one shot felt decidedly wimpy and did not cycle the bolt. I did a quick teardown & checked the bore, which was clear, so I ran a lubed brush down it for good measure and went on with my fun.

All 3 long mags and both of my new short mags all ran flawlessly.

& we did dirty up some Q-tips after.

The weather channel says that there is no chance of rain today. But, I see it coming down in my backyard. I have my new Glock 27, ammo, and targets ready to go. But, I may just relax and watch some TV instead. When I was in the Army, I did some of my best shooting in the rain. Geez, I've turned into such a wimp. I know that the Glock and 15-22 won't rust out because I would give them a good cleaning afterwards and lube them in all the right places.

Maybe I'll cuddle with my large cup of coffee and the TV remote. After all, the wife and kids are braving "Black Friday" sales out in crazyland.

Fast Forward a few hours:

Well, I couldn't take it anymore and went to an indoor range that I have been meaning to visit for over a year now. They gave me a discount, and free paper targets, because I am prior military. Anyway, I shot 80 rounds of .40 and 100 rounds of 9mm with a Lone Wolf Conversion barrel through the Glock 27. Plus, 100 rounds of .22 through my S&W 15-22. My Ruger never made it out of the range bag. I have got to say that shooting the Glock is too much fun!!!! I don't know why I never thought about buying a Glock until this year. In addition, I think I am going to take the scope off my 15-22 because it is so accurate that it is almost boring to shoot. I may only use the iron sights for a bit to make it more challenging.

Folks, heck of alot better way to spend black friday then I did. Then a again, I never had a bad time at the range / shooting!

Also the beauty of the 15-22 compared to alot other 22's. Piff, (uh oh) pull rear pin, break open receivers, pull bolt carrier, blow smoke out of barrel, verify clear, reassemble, resume activities........

That range trip sounds like my Thursday coming up. Treating myself to a little PTO range time. The GLOCK 19 is going to get a good workout!

I put 200 rounds of 9mm thru my M&P FS on the same trip. Indoor range because it was raining here, too.

Guy in the next lane was shooting a rented Glock, so I invited him to try a mag-full of 9's thru my M&P.
