charging handle?
I'm looking for an ambidextrous charging handle for my 15-22. Me being the southpaw, my son a righty.
Can anyone recommend a good quality one? I was looking at the BCM Gunfighter,
Would that work with the 15-22??
Am I paying for the BCM name or are there other makes just as good?

now that all depends on where you live.......
i can't understand why folk do not enter where abouts they are
in the world,as im in england we are not able to get a lot
from America due to ITAR
i have just ordered a charging handle from Jody at tacticool
and need a medium latch from SWS,they also do a ambi latch
the gun fighter will not fit the 1522

The BCM definitely won't work... Just like any other handle for a real AR platform. They are too long among other things. You'll have to get one that's specifically made for the 15-22... From doomsday, tacticool22 or plinker tactical.

Look for the best true Ambi charging handle from Tacticool22 this spring. All the other ones will just wannabe.

You ARE going to make one now?!? Come on, give us some hints! I'd get one of yours if it fixes the 2 small annoyances I have with the Doomsday one.

Maybe one similar to the Rainier Arms 'Raptor'??
There is a member who fabbed up a 'Raptor' for the 15/22 by making a Franken charging handle.
Looked nice after he was finished.

Sorry Tacticool, I thought you had seen my post on them before. Or perhaps you did and just don't remember.
1. The right side when mounted, is loose, allowing it to rattle if you jiggle the weapon or are moving with it. Having just gotten a Raptor for my M4, it doesn't do this. I think it either needs a spring to give it tension when it isn't being pulled on, or a slighly different design.
2. The milling marks. Some may like this, but the long line patterns on it bug me for some reason. They shouldn't, but they do.
Want pics/video?

That's funny...I put the olive handle in my shopping cart and tried to check out and then boom, it was gone. I was still able to get a black one though...and I was REALLY looking for a silver one!
Now here's a Q for you, tacticool..is there a point to using the old latch from the stock plastic charging handle? I left mine off. Figured I didn't need to bother transferring it because I didn't see the use for it. Why does the handle need to lock? Not like it's loose...or am I missing something?

It's so painful to spend $50-60 on a charging handle when the rifle only cost ~$350. Ouch.

We are sold out and I am not going to do another production run. They cost too much and sell too slowly. However, that is not going to stop our Gen2 charging handle that will come complete, ready to drop in.
The handle needs to lock. Imagine if you will the one time something does not clear and the bolt catches the latch on the way back.

If you shoot nose to the charge handle like me, you'll be missing some teeth and have a nice scar on your nose, lips, chin......doesn't sound pleasant.
