I am thinking about getting a BAD lever for my 15-22 but not sure as I am a lefty. Advantages/disadvantages for a lefty? Also thinking about adding an angled foregrip but not sure if it is lefty-friendly or not. Advise is welcome.

Not sure how a BAD would even work for a lefty, but maybe I'm missing something.
As for the AFG, how could it not be ambidextrous? Pretty much every fore grip made...angled, vertical, whatever...is totally symmetrical. FWIW, I have the AFG2 and really like it.

Don't recommend the B.A.D. lever. You want the NDZ SBR lever instead, since it's actually designed for the 15-22. The B.A.D Lever, at the minimum, NEEDS to be bent to fit on the 15-22, and often won't work due to the weight on the bolt release preventing bolt lock-back on empty.

From everything I have seen, the Magpul BAD lever will not fit the 15-22. I do know there are a couple of companies that make something similar though; NDZ performance is one.

First... the Magpul BAD lever does fit the 15-22 with a slight modification. All you have to do is straighten the main arm that is slightly canted forward... which is what causes the lever to bind against the inside of the trigger guard.

Secondly... I would not recommend the BAD lever for a lefty unless you shoot right handed. For a lefty, you should be able to reach your finger up and hit the assist. The BAD lever is designed for a right handed shooter to hit the assist from the right side... I think it would be easier for a lefty.

Thirdly... as stated above, most, if not all of the fore-grips designed can be used lefty or righty (excluding those that have remote switch detents or things that are designed around a specific-handed shooter.

I will say that if you're a Magpul guy... the Noveske STS 60 degree Magpul Ambi Safety works fine on the 15-22, so do the KNS Anti-Walk Pins. The buffer tube or "receiver extension" as some like to call it, is a Mil-Spec tube, so the Mil-Spec Magpul stocks work fine (except those that require a different tube be installed). Magpul pistol grips fit fine, and lastly, the Midwest Industries Ambi Sling attachment fits great over the buffer tube... However, if you'd rather just put a rail sling mount, Magpul makes two different versions. The Magpul SPS attachments that are supposed to be inserted inside the buffer castle nut can not be used.

I'm with the others. Why would a lefty want a BAD lever? Its only purpose is to allow right handed shooters to use their trigger finger to close the bolt. As a lefty, how would you use it? The bolt release is already on your trigger finger side.

I shoot lefty also. If you want to add something, ambi safety & ambi mag release are real nice.

The Troy ambi mag release works well, also with a little shaving. There are others that work better, but the Troy works best with the BAD lever... Which shouldn't be a concern for the OP.

The BAD/SBR levers can be useful to left handed shooters. Especially if you have smaller hands and do not want to break their grip to actuate the bolt catch with the trigger finger. A lefty can can use the BAD/SBR lever with their trigger finger to lock the bolt back, and drop the bolt quickly with their support hand after inserting a mag.

I don't use a BAD/SBR lever because I prefer to be able to use the Norgon ambi mag catch, which just drops into the 15-22 lower without modification, and I have smallish hands. If I need to lock the bolt back, I will just break my firing grip to actuate the bolt catch and rack the charging handle. Having an ambi charging handle is beneficial in this situation, (Doomsday, Plinker Tactical or the drop in ambi latch I sell) or you can just "claw" the stock charging handle with your pointer and social fingers.

Replacing the safety selector on the 15-22 is not absolutely necessary since you can swap which side the lever is on, but the ambi selectors are a nice addition. The Battle Arms Development ambi safety selectors have multiple lever options and they have a 15-22 specific version.

I don't think I have seen any style of vertical grip, AFG, or handstops that are not ambi. A lot of people ask about whether they should use them or not. Really that is personal preference, I have used vertical grips, AFG, various handstops and what not, ultimately you will have to try them out and see if you how they feel and it works with your style of shooting.

There are a ton of stock manufactures out there. I currently run a B5 Systems Bravo stock which I like a lot.

Take a look at Rainier Arms, they have a nice selection of stocks to choose from, just remember to buy a stock that is made for a mil spec diameter receiver extension.

I ordered my ambi stuff from Simple Weapon Solutions, who just posted. I use the Battle Arms ambi safety for 15-22, which I really like... but as stated is not essential. What is essential for me, especially when I shoot with my VTAC sling, is the Norgon Ambi-Catch. This is a great product that allows a lefty to drop the magazine without moving your hands. Allows for a very quick magazine change.

I do use the Magpul CTR stock & love it.

With the ambi latch would I be able to use the latch one-handed? Dumb question, I know but trying to "see" it in my head. Any pics of it being used "in action" on a lefty?

No dumb questions, we all had to start somewhere. It can be used one handed. I don't have any pics of it in use, but you would pinch the lever on the right side in towards the charging handle with your thumb on the latch and pointer finger on the charging handle tab. Does that make sense?

I just reach up with my trigger finger to depress it. It is between the bolt release & the trigger, so real easy to reach. Zoom in on my pic & it should make sense.

Edit: Oops. Sorry, I thought you said ambi-catch. My bad.

So it's basically the latch is on the right side?

No, the latch wraps around the back side of the charging handle.

You can't "change" the buffer tube unless you cut it off. It doesn't have a buffer spring inside nor does it attach to the lower like it does on a 'real' AR. It's all one piece. I'm using the MagPul CTR which has a locking feature so you don't get any movement once it's in a position you like.

Got it. Looks like I'm getting some new mods! Hmm, lets see. Ambi charging handle, ambi mag release, stock, foregrip, brass catcher, possible ambi safety and eventually a red/green dot.

Don't stop there. Get a CMC trigger to increase your accuracy. Then of course my favorite addition... a suppressor.
