Best Mag loader

it makes a difference when you are loading 8 mags at once, or repeatedly loading mags at the range...

Wow. Now that I know all I need to do is ask, I'll be asking the internet for a lot more. :)

The guy didn't have the same enthusiasm loading by hand as he did with the loader. Also, I think the hand loading would have been faster if he had dumped out the tray of ammo. In any case, if you are loading 4-5 25-rounders at a time, I can see where it could help some. I like shooting 10-rounders anyway and I load up one mag at a time so it doesn't help me.

That video is ridiculous. Who picks them out of the plastic holder 1 by 1 with their finger nails? I put the whole bunch in my pocket and load them 3-4 at a time with my fingers. I could load mine at least twice as fast as what he's doing with the 'speed loader'. Yes my fingers/thumb hurt(s) when I'm done but it's not too bad. His comparison is not a fair one unless he truly loads them 1 by 1 like that...and if he does wow..

I use the MK1 version of a left and right hand. Slight pull on loading pin and feed 1 round at at time. In much the same way as I have loaded thousands of HK mags with 5.56.

So far, not had a problem with the staggering of rounds. I know that 5.56 is rimless so would not cause an issue but the technique is use is what I'm looking at. TV also plays a vital part of the loading process. :)

I have also loaded over the years more than my fair share of .303 BREN GUN mags which are rimmed rounds. Same method no problems.

Just my experience. As for the speed that seems to have driven a competition to arise, being as we are not looking at re-filling mags in contact, does it matter if it takes 30, 45, 60 or more seconds?

Just wondered.

Rob. :D

SInce I virtually never reload magazines at the range (I take enough already loaded for the day's shooting) the speed is really irrelevant to me. I load magazines sitting on the couch watching TV. :)

I love to kill time filling mags while wife wades through the evening trash time tv. Keeps me from insanity :D

speed may make a difference to those who have only acquired a few mags and are paying for range time...

i like it because reloading 8 mags in my mothers back yard after emptying them leaves me more time for the rest of the day...

and i usually shoot the 15-22 after i put a hundred rounds through my handgun...which i only have 2 mags for and my fingers are a little tired

I am at the range to have fun pulling the trigger, not working loading magazines

I'm kind of amazed folks worry about the "staggering" of the rounds.

Get the rounds in there, pull down on the button to get a tiny bot of slack, rattle the magazine and bam, staggered properly every time.

Thanks for the tip Red! I am looking at buying a 15-22 and am reading what I can about them.
