Question 'Nother New 15-22 Owner With Scope Ques.

A 15-22 was about the only .22 I did not have, so I had to get in on the fun.

I got the MOE version (new) and I would like to put a scope with magnification built in and put it on a quick detach riser on the top rail so as to switch back to the flip ups for close targets.

A lot of info out there is a few years old, does anyone have recent purchases of the new stuff out there?

The Nikon P22 looked good but the Nikon site says it is discontinued... I'd kind of like a more compact sight too so it would look cooler on top of the AR platform.

Thanks for any help!!

Talking

I put a inch tube size Bushnell 1-4X shotgun scope on mine and at 50 years the circle in the center of the reticle covers the black on a standard target so it works perfect. The recoil of a 22LR semi won't hurt the scope and it functions as it should.

What? There are lots of recent posts about scopes for the 15-22. I bought this one, it works well and looks good with the ar style of the rifle. It comes with quick detachable rings. I ended up putting it on my Sig 522 and bought a bushnell trs 25 red dot for the 15-22. But I am always switching things around on the gun. That's part of the fun.

Well I have nice 3 x 9 scopes on our 10-22 and marlin 60 so the 15-22 gets a red dot.

I went with the Burris FF3 on the AR flattop mount.

Burris AR-F3.

Looks pretty nice and they say it will cowitness the Magpul BUIS too.

I will post back how it all works out and post some pics.

I have this scope on mine and my two grandsons' rifles. Maybe one of the best for the money and a good match for the 15-22, both visually and performance-wise.

I had a Nikon 3-9x40 on my 15-22, but took it off to put on my Ruger American 22. I got one of the aforementioned Leapers 3-9x32 scopes and it's been fine thus far.

Thumbs up

I looked at the Leapers and I almost went that route...

I know I originally asked about a scope with magnification, but got to thinking about what we are plinking (sounds like words to a song) and went red dot.

With the .22's we are allowed to shoot at steel at the outdoor range we (family) belong to.

Man that steel clank sound is addictive. Seems like anymore the .22's are what leave the safe... then the .22 ammo "shortage" hits and what a PITA all that is.

I thought all the "real" shooters laughed at the lowly .22?! (kidding)

Anyway, like I posted earlier I do have good scopes on a couple .22 rifles and we set the steels up at the 25 yd range so I don't "need" a scope and thought the stock sights with the Burris FF3 might be a cool alternative.

From what I can find on Youtube the Burris AR-F3 and the FF3 seem like a good fit atop the 15-22 MOE.

Doesn't mean I can't slap a scope on top at some point, right? Speaking of that, the Burris site has their AR332 that has a rail on it to mount the FF3 on top of that... Man the wife would file for divorce probably as soon as the credit card statement came in if I went that route.... Ahh, maybe not. She has just as much fun shootin' all our stuff as I do.

There are simply too many cool looking choices out there and all the vids you can watch on Youtube with everybodys cool stuff is not helping

The Burris link:AR-F3 Sight - rifle scopes, handgun scopes, hunting scopes by Burris Optics

When I get it all together and shoot it I will post some pics and say how it all works out.

See ya.
