Factory Barrel Nut Torque Spec ?

Anyone know what the factory barrel nut torque spec is on the 15-22 ?, also is it tighter or different for the heavier match barreled PC version? Is it really only 20 ft-lb.s ? If so I really don't think barrel vise blocks are required, I know I can hold the barrel with my hand and tighten the nut to 20 ft-lb.s with a wrench in my other hand.
I just found out why my groups were getting lower POI at the end of my second range day. My barrel nut is so loose now the hand guard wobbles. LOL I hope this is just break in, and its not going to need tightening after every 600 rounds.
Other than this she has been flawless.

When I reassembled mine I probably went over the 20-25 lb spec. Seemed about right to me but that depends on what you are used to wrenching on and how long the wrench is. My barrel nut wrench that came with the tube was quite short

When I assembled the upper on my CQB AR, I torqued the barrel nut to somewhere between 25-30 foot pounds. You do need a receiver block to properly torque the nut. By design, the nut can't walk loose, since the gas tube goes thru the barrel nut pin hole.

Do NOT clamp the receiver to torque the barrel nut (or remove the flash hider) on a MP15-22 - clamp the barrel. The receiver is plastic and has a small indexing notch. If you clamp the receiver, you are likely to strip the notch.

That wrench is supposed to be used with a 1/2" Drive Torque Wrench.
The 15-22 can not take the same torque as an AR-15

The 15-22 is .22LR only. There is no gas tube.
Do NOT use a receiver block unless you want to destroy the upper and possibly the bolt guide rail.
Use barrel vise jaws.
If you can hold a barrel with your hand to 20 Ft. Lbs. I do not want to shake your hand.

LOL I guess you don't want to shake my hand then LOL. I'm a wrench and have strong hands from bending wrenches all my life, but 20-25 ft-lb.s still isn't much. I made a barrel tool out of 3/4" SDR 21 PVC to suffice till your wrench & blocks I ordered arrive here. By the way did they go out ? The barrel nut was less than finger tight, I used two fingers to unscrew it with my DIY wrench. I'm going to clean up the barrel and receiver and reassemble it tonight. It's going to be interesting to see if the PVC fingers can take 20-25 ft-lb.s fingers crossed.

Also no one really answered my question about the torque spec ? Is it 20-25 ft-lb.s ? What is the factory torque spec ? Mine obviously wasn't at it, unless this is a heat cycle break in thing ???

I don't see any orders under rearsrocket. Look for an email as soon as the label is printed...If stamps.com does their job of sending the email notifications. Which they haven't been.
Usually those plastic ears break. I guess that's one way to ensure the torque is correct. ;-)

Sorry for not being specific enough in my previous post. I was referring to reassembling after modifying the upper and adding the tacticool barrel nut adapter and the key mod rail that is sold from their website. The spanner wrenches for the new barrel nut and the adapter nut are quite short

I got a paypal e-mail stating "your package is on it's way" with a tracking number and it says "pre-shipment info sent to USPS", seems to have started moving yesterday the 20th.

Here's the tool I used for disassembly. Worked minty today for the reassembly, no lugs snapped off the tool and it got the nut good and tight, all of 20 ft-lb.s.

S&W won't provide torque spec for 15-22, or they have yet to answer my email from early last year. I used the 20-25 torque on my 15-22 PC when changing out my handguard. No issues so far.
