Default 15/22 Questionable

Hello from Fl, new to the forum and 15-22. Received a 15-22 sport with 4x32 scope and bipod for Christmas, love the look and feel of the rifle however after 100 rounds at the range I am very disappointed with the scope, shooting at 25 yds I could not see target impact and the trigger pull is awful. Looking to make some inexpensive improvements, any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Short of spending $100+ for a drop in trigger and the required longer pins for the poly lower. J.P. Enterprises makes a replacement spring kit for the milspec trigger. I went this route for a 15-22 instead of spending $160 for another CMC drop-in trigger. Big improvement and I am happy. Cost me $15

I have this scope on my 15-22:

For a cheap $40 scope I think it works well. I can easily see my impacts at 50 yds using splatterburst targets.

I intend to put something better on my AR15 that I want to shoot much longer ranges but for the 22 this scope is fine in my opinion.

The first thing I do on any of my AR's is put a GOOD trigger in them, 15-22 included. But, I didn't want to spend $150-$250 on one. I picked up this Rise Armament RA140-SST trigger from Optics Planet when it was on sale you under $67.00 delivered!! Even at the regular price of around $130.00 it's a pretty good trigger upgrade that's well worth the price. Easy drop-in installation AND ot came with the proper size anti-walk/rotate pins. I have no complaints about it.

I also put this Tru Glo Omnia 4 scope on my 15-22 . Great scope for the price. It has target turrets, tactical illuminated reticle, and, comes with flip-up covers, throw lever, and mount.

I went the ALG trigger route for a trigger upgrade. IIRC, it's a 5# trigger but feels a lot better than a stock trigger for about $40-$50. Mine did not come with a scope. I bought a 1-6X Primary Arms scope made specifically for .22LR.

I second the RA-140. HUGE difference over stock. I tried news springs and polishing the trigger components prior, and for my mileage... the RA-140 is heads and shoulders above any improvements you get out of the trigger job.

If the handguard isn't free-floating and you're using the bipod you could be putting pressure on the barrel differently each shot, throwing off the aim.
