Default Broken firing pin

I had this happen to my 15-22 today. My firing pin broke and was causing miss fires. I had a new one back at the house and replaced it when I got home.
I am wondering if any of you have had this happen and if so how many times or how often has it happened. I have seen PCC's do this quite often but never a rimfire.

I am a high volume user and I get an average of 12-15k on OEM firing pins. I have replaced a "bunch" of 15-22 firing pins over 10+ years of ownership on 6 copies.

I have finally replaced them all with Volquartsen's version and have not broken one yet. Highest round count is 12k at the moment so who knows.

I am running factory pins, change them after 10,000 rounds since 12 to 15K seems to be the life. A friend had installed a Volquartsen and has now destroyed the cross pin that retains the firing pin. The Volquartsen pin has a longer rear section which seems to put more stress on the cross pin. Not a serious problem, just another thing to watch for. Would be prudent to change the cross pin with the firing pin then inspect it when cleaning.
