Custom Trigger Not Working In Performance Center
Have a Performance Center 15-22. Installed a Rise Rave 140 custom trigger. Did not work well. Consistently experienced dead trigger fails after initial ignition. Seemed the disconnector was not engaging.
Swapped back to the stock trigger, and no further problems. Long story short, Rise to their credit worked the issue well. Replacing spring rates, and even free upgrading to the Blitz. In all cases the trigger did not work well.
Continued to consistently experience dead triggers and also light strikes/ FTF.
Several types of ammo were used across testing sessions, with the same used for each separate session.
In all cases swapping back to the stock trigger resulted in no further problems. Rise says this issue is unique to them because I am the first customer with a Performance Center.
They have extraordinary success with standard 15-22.
So there must be something about the Performance Center. What that is, I and Rise have no idea. I can only suspect that something is different about the PC bolt, since I think the bolt is the only component with which the trigger interfaces for ignition.
I have not determined if a PC bolt is different from a standard bolt.
Does anyone know?
Does anyone have the Performance Center with a custom trigger?
More generally, anyone have an idea why a PC would not like a custom trigger?

Not sure of the compatibility. I do know the older R-140 was not compatible with a few ARs. RA would only let you know after you communicated to them you were having an issue with it. During that time I found a guy in a gun forum who knew all about it and came up with a doable solution. It had to do with fitment. As I recall it fit the well ok but was put in a bind which impacted the functionality of the cassette.

The bolt assemblies on the standard 15-22 and PC version are identical. Only really difference is the barrel on the PC is 2 inches longer and has a tighter chamber.
I have used CMC, Geissele, POF and Hyperfire PDI in my 15-22PC with great success. Never tried a Rise in it. I have used Rise 140 PCC in my Tippmanns and it works fine.
I don't know why the Rise is giving you fits, but the 15-22PC will work with other Triggers.

Not a 15-22, but my dedicated rimfire AR with a CMMG bolt and collar would not work with a Timney Targa (cassette type) trigger, but works great with a Geissele SSA. Something about the geometry of the Targa caused the hammer to hit the bolt before the back of the firing pin, which diverted enough energy from the hammer to keep the pin from striking the rim hard enough for the cartridge to fire.

My issue with the RA-140 was the housing body itself. A bit of material needed to be removed from the upper left corner / upper left side area. Though it had fit with no issue, evidently there was enough bind on the assembly to cause a functionality problem. I was really PO'd why RA chose not to mention that in their literature, descriptions, etc; unless of course you contacted them and they asked what brand and model you had. After that, they literally couldn't give me any of their products.

I have had light strikes with several drop in triggers on 15-22’s, same with the trigger pull reduction spring kits. I have never had any problem with CMC drop in triggers or the clone from PSA. After many, many rounds, I did have one break a hammer spring leg on a CMC which would cause occasional light strikes. A quick call to CMC and they rebuilt my trigger under warranty. I have since put a drop of oil on the coils on either side of the hammer when cleaning the rifle and have had no further broken springs.

There's a Geissele SSA in my 15-22, which first saw duty in another centerfire AR. It has always worked 100%
It isn't a cassette, though.

I see the Geissele SSA is double stage 4.5 pound. What I liked about the RA140, supposedly, was the single stage and lighter pull.

We like what we like. The SSA is in a number of my ARs, for it's combination of a trigger that is easy to shoot, but heavy enough for some unhappy social situation.
There are other choices out there, from Geissele, and others.

I can totally relate to the op. Just this past winter I put a Rise Armament 140 in my 1522P. Functioned, or should I say malfunctioned the same as bigslimm describes in his post. And yes, it was installed correctly. I finally swapped it with a CMC trigger I had in another AR15. The CMC works in the 1522 and the Rise Armament works in the Bushmaster. My problem solved.
