M+P LEO/military discount?
Hello,
Does S+W offer a LEO or military discount along the lines of Glock?
A Glock at discount goes for 398, and comes with 3 mags. Add two mags at $20 each and you have the gun with 5 mags for $440.
On line price for a M+P is about 535 with 2 mags. 3 more mags at $30 each gives a total price for the pistol and 5 mags of $625.
Thanks.

Welcome to the forum.
Yes,
For an example, look at budsgunshop.com and click on the LE icon.
The S&W LE versions come with the 3rd mag.
Also, this month, S&W has a special promotion for Military. Search further down in this thread.

Discounts
When are there going to be discounts for civilians?Seems that the military and Leo's are using tax payer funds to buy thier weapons.I might be wrong about Leo's for personal weapons, but the rifles and shotguns are tax dollar purchases, along with ammo.

Ambassador, with due respect your're wrong about the whole deal. The discounts (for the individuals listed below) are for those purchasing weapons with their personal funds, no tax dollars are involved. This includes rifles, shotguns, and ammo. Many agencies authorize these weapons but do not issue or reimburse the officers for their purchase. Sometimes this extends to ammo as well.
Sometimes the weapons are not for duty use, but for off duty, CCDW, home defense, etc. but are still purchased witout tax dollars. The price on those guns and ammo includes Federal Excise Tax (FET) which would not be applied if the items were being purchased by agencies using tax dollars. Agencies get lower pricing than those listed below because they do not pay FET.
This is from Bud's Police Supply web Site:
Who qualifies for the S&W LE Discount?
More individuals qualify to buy S&W items at the discounted LE price. Those who qualify include:
Active Military personnel - all branches
Retired Military personnel - all branches
National Guard personnel - all branches
Military Reserve personnel - all branches
Fire Fighters - including volunteers
Paramedics and EMTs
TSA Employees
Commercial Pilots
Federal Flight Deck Officers
Court Judges
District and Deputy District Attorneys
All sworn Law Enforcement Officers - city, county, state, and federal
All retired Law Enforcement Officers - city, county, state, and federal
All Corrections Officers
State Licensed Security Companies

Ambassador. My department does NOT pay for my on duty weapon or my off duty weapon. The only thing the the taxpeyers pay for is the ammo that I use at my firearms requalifcation each year.

In almost half a century of toting a weapon and a badge, I always had to purchase my own weapon. The exception being the *** shotguns that the dept issued, and no one used (Winchester 1200s), so we wound up buyng our own heavy weapons as well. There were NO taxpayer funds involved-except mine.

Today is the last day of the military (active/retired) 40% off MSRP. I'm in Afghanistan and just order a M442 no lock with my funds ($360).
