Question Assembly Video & Where is the M&P 40 w 5 in barrel

First question: Is the dis-assembly and assembly the same for all M&P's? MidwayUsa has a DVD for the M&P 9mm. I have a M&P 45.

Second Question: Where is the M&P 40 with a 5 inch barrel? It is listed on S&W's web site. But is no where to be found. It is a lust object for me. I shoot a Glock 35 in USPSA Production. A great pistol, but I had to buy an after market barrel to shoot lead bullets. It works. I had to get a Lee Bulge Buster to take care of the bulged cases I get from time to time.

The 4.25 inch barrel on all other M&P 40s doesn't work for me. Yes, I know the target market is Law Enforcement.

If I can tame my M&P 45, I'm really going to want that 5 in barrel in 40 S&W. (I've just about got the 45 halter broke )

The answer to your first question should be yes. I have both guns and have never noticed a difference, but I have not stripped the .45 beyond field-stripping for cleaning. I did put a new sear in my M&P9L and was surprised how simple that was. (I do not enjoy tinkering with guns.)

I would like to see one of those 5-inch M&P40s myself. So far, I have not heard of any being available. Suppose they will be along in a bit.

I installed the Apex Tactical hard sear and striker block in my M&P 45. Excellent product. Works. I do not enjoy tinkering with guns either.

I should not have mentioned the DVD. They are sold out the day I made the post
