Default A Tale of Two Smithies

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.......

The best of times: both of my new Smith and Wesson are totally reliable right out of the box. MP40c went to the range today and is very accurate, no FTF not FTE (which I can't say for the not new and broken in, Kahr PM 9 that went along and had 2 FTF's).

I shot 250 rounds with the MP40c and they all went where I wanted them to. Very nice pistol, and yes I have compared it to the Glock 27 which is also a nice gun. So this will be a regular CCW item for me.

The worst of times: My new model 17-9 (sorry wrong forum), didn't want to write a second thread

It's a straight shooter right out of the box, again totally reliable. However there is not enough contrast (black on black on partridge front sight) for my tired old eyes. I put a small piece of orange target paster on the sight and I could see again (it's a miracle)! So do I paint the sight, replace it with a fiber optic one, don't know. I hate getting old!!!!! However happy with both new guns.

Get you some wite-out from Walmart and put a dab of it on the front sight. It makes a big difference and comes off easily when you want it to.

Sounds like a good idea. I'll give it a try.

Thanks
