Traded in the XD subcompact for a Shield .40 today. XD was a great gun but this is so nice to carry. Unfortunately getting sent out of town and can't get to the range until Friday.

Welcome in, and congrats on the new Shield .40. Been carrying mine for about 8 months and couldn't be happier. Enjoy.

Order a Talon Grip for it, you'll be glad you did. I've had my Shield about a year and have found it to be a great pistol.

Also suggest getting a Talon rubber grip. That was my complaint with my Shield, the grip was too smooth. Once I installed the Talon grip, the rubber texture gave a much superior gripping surface, with no extra wear and tear to body or clothes.
