Default M&P replacement slide

I have a M&P®40 5" PERFORMANCE CENTER® PORTED. I wanted to just go with the Storm Lake 40-9 conversion barrel back in January. Apparently Storm Lake quarantined them and they have no idea when they will ship out from the factory. I have been thinking about getting a whole new fully assembled M&P®9 5"PERFORMANCE CENTER® PORTED slide but am not having any luck finding one. I was thinking about the non ported version and having the slide cut out to resemble the Chris Costa ATEi M&P 9. Has anyone done this and if so where can i find one?

First off, if you really want to shoot 9mm, you can just buy a factory 9mm barrel and mags.

However, if you're really looking to build up a project gun, you're best bet is simply to look for parts on places like gunbroker or the forums. Don't expect it to be cheap unless you get lucky... probably almost worth just buying a new gun since you'll get mags, a frame, etc.

This has been looked at in length...will it work yes...reliably some what...I WOULD ONLY DO THIS FOR TARGET USE ONLY.
The 40mm & the 9mm barrel lock up is a different size as well as the magazine followers are different. For This to be a reliable 9mm gun your would have to buy the proper 40mm-9mm conversion barrel as well as the proper 9mm magazines.
