M&P 9 with internal lock?
I'm looking at an one for sale and have only seen it in pictures. Seller knows very little about what they really have (not even sure if there are any keys!) and claims "no mag safety, internal lock, no thumb safety". Pictures confirm all of this, except the IL. Is an IL even available on these pistols? I've never seen one with it and I cant find any pics of one with it. If an IL is an option, where is it located on the pistol? I would assume it would be on the frame, near the trigger. Seen many wheel guns with it but not the semi's.
Again, this is on a semi-auto M&P9 full-size pistol. I know at least a few of you know all there is to know about M&P's. Please advise....

can you get the serial number from the seller, call S&W and find out the specifications on that particular gun from them?
there must be some with an internal lock. it is described on page 28 of my M&P pistol manual. you can find the manual on the S&W website.
that lock is on the top of the grip straight back from the slide stop toward the end of the pistol, opposite side the serial number is on.

There are some models with ILs. If you look on the left hand side of the firearm (muzzle forward) towards the back of the frame just under the slide you will see a circle. If it is flat/flush with the frame, the firearm doesn't have the IL. However, if it is indented like you can almost put a handcuff key into the side of the frame, then it has the IL.
Of course S&W would know from the serial# as well.
HTH,
Mat

Here's a picture of mine without the lock, just a plug. I figure the key is like the revolver keys. Just a small 4 sided thing to fit the lock.

There's no lock on this gun pictured... Look at the post above yours. That shows the lock location, the hieroglyphics explaining the use of the lock and you can see that his has a black plug where the lock could go.

My M&P9 has it also, no other form of serious safety on it and it didn't come with a key of any sort.
