I only had time to put 50rds through it before it started raining but all I can say is: wow. My gun feels totally different. I liked it a lot before but now I'm in love. :D

Right off the bat I'm shooting much better with this trigger and had no problems shooting hedgeapples from 25yds (no big deal for most of you operators I'm sure but overall accuracy for myself has much improved.)

The takeup is.........just about non-existent. Like most people have said it feels very similar to the typical 1911 trigger. I had my smith use all the springs in the kit and according to Apex that should net around 4.5-5lbs. I compared the break to my buddy's P99 and the FSS is a little lighter but not too light. I love how wide and flat the trigger feels now.

The sights are awesome as well. Ameriglo lists the front sight as green but as you can see in the pics its more like neon yellow but it doesn't bother me at all. Its very easy on the eyes. I went with tritium inserts more for locating the gun in the dark than using them to shoot at night because I plan on buying a TLR1 in the future which would negate the use of night sights. When I have some more time I'll try to get some better pics of the sights. If I had one complaint, its that the rear sight is not serrated (I knew this going in, but serrated sights just look better to me.)

Overall I'm very very happy with this setup.

Thanks for the pics. I have been debating a set of those sights and wondered how green the front was.

Yeah I couldn't find hardly any pics of the green sight (even after contacting Ameriglo!)

Like I said, its definitely more yellow than green but I like it.

I took a few more photos tonight.

Hell I just wanted to share pics of my sights because I looked long and hard and couldn't find any decent pics of these Ameriglo's in green on the web.

Looks good. Do you have a sight tool, or did you just hammer them back into place? I'm scared of taking off my rear sight to install the apex USB and not being able to realign it perfectly.

OT crew holla

I had a smith install them but as far as I know the rear sight is just held on by the set screw. My Ameriglo rear sight came loose after 100rds because my smith didn't loctite it and I had no issues re-aligning it and loctiting it in place myself. I shot it and it seems to be zeroed.

The front sight is has to be punched out. If I were doing it myself I'd use a brass punch, wrap the slide in a towel, stick it in a vice, use a little gun oil, and go slowly. Brass shouldn't scratch the slide but I'm paranoid so I'd wrap the end in tape before I took it to the gun.

Just to be clear, you are supposed to punch the sight from left to right to remove it but I don't know if thats with the barrel end facing away or towards you so if you do this yourself you'll want to ask around. If you punch the sight out incorrectly you risk widening the dovetail.

TeaQue,
Whose holster is that in the first picture, really like the way everything is set up on it?

What is the benefit of this iDot setup as opposed to the three-dot configuration?

When shooting, is it quicker to sight?

Honestly its just personal preference. I don't have the best eyesight and Ameriglo's front sight is impossible to miss now :)

As for the 2-dot vs 3-dot setup, I just wanted to try it out. So far I love it.

The sights punch out left to right as you are holding the gun, looking at the sights like you are aiming. Toward the ejection port.

The rear sight on my .40 isn't held by the set screw! I loosened that up and pounded like heck to get it to move.

The Ameriglo rear must just be a hair smaller than the stock rear then because if you loosen that set screw you can move it around by hand.
