Default S&W the best weapons out there!

I have owned Smith and Wesson's since 1982 and with my Model 59 an all steel gun nor my M&P9 have I ever had any kind of problem with them when firing, I also own a Glock 26 which is a sub compact 9mm but have had 4 FTF even though the primer was struck and I also have a Kel Tec PF9 which dropped the magazine on the third round of firing, it was new out of the box!

I always carry my M&P9 because I am confident that it will do its job, I am now going to purchase even more M&P weapons because my life and possibly some one I knows life depends on it!

How do you feel about your gun? I trust mine and bet my life on it, do you with yours? This is a question that all gun owners must ask themselves!

Have a great and Merry Christmas and a Safe New Year!

My S&W revolvers date back to 1958, are 100% and I trust my life to all of them. My one Smith semi auto (I have a Glock M23 that was my service weapon from my LEO career) is the M&P 9C, the best semi I've ever fired and I trust my life to that as well.

Glad to hear that Old Cop! A weapon you can not trust is not worth much in my feeble mind, but that is my opinion.

Yes I do know how to clear a semi with problems instinctively now but a revolver just does what you want and without all kinds of safeties!

I agree on the 40c. I hung up my M&P 45 midsize and G27 to make my 40c my EDC gun.

My M&P40c is just sooo sweeet. Wanted one about a year ago, but just too expensive for me. Got one a couple of months ago dirt cheap with 3 mags. Can't say enough good things about it.

My F/S M&P 9 is the weapon of choice here. It rides comfortably in a 101Holsters kydex rig that makes the gun and the TLR-1 on it disappear.

It shoots accurately, flawlessly, and I am more than confident in it. This is my M&P, there are many like it, but this one is mine.

A S&W .32 break-open was my first "toy" gun, and the first gun I ever shot was a Model 36. I grew up on S&W revolvers. I was never impressed with their autos until I bought my M&P 45 full size in 2009. I liked the initial feel of the pistol, and it has really grown on me over the couple of years - almost three actually. I carried a number of Glocks, including a first generation 17, which I bought back when they couldn't even give them away. I've had good service with Glocks over the past 20 years, but I can honestly say I like the M&P better. Any pistol is a mechanical device and will break sooner or later so you'd better carry a BUG. That said, my 45 has been very reliable - never a failure. At just over 5,000 rounds thru it, I think I can say that its my go-to gun. I added a set of 10-8 Performance FO sights and only managed to enhance my speed and accuracy (day light that is). I've got a Milt Sparks rig on order. I may end up getting a 9 or 40C for BUG and off-the-clock, but that's not a pressing issue at the moment. I'd also like to have a full size 9 and the 45C. I really need to get an M&P armorer's course under my belt. Did I say I'm pretty satisfied with my M&P?

I musta mistitled my original post I should have said that the M&P models from S&W are definately the best weapons out there I am getting ready to put a 40 and a 45 M&P in my stock of weapons giving me 4 S&Ws, and three M&Ps!

There are prettier weapons and some more expensive but as far as reliability and ease of use plus the feel they have right out of the box I am definitely a big fan of these guns and can alwas depend on them!

Smith&Wesson are what all weapons should be in my book. My first carry pistol was a S&W Mod 13 4 inch .357 and have owned several since. Never held a Smith in my hand that didn't fit perfect the first time. And they go bang every time you squeeze the trigger. As stated above, if you can't trust the weapon, get rid of it and buy a Smith. I carry an M&P 45c daily and own an M&P 15 set up for close range and tac entry. Also 2 M&P 15-22's. They are great plinker and small varmit rifles. Never a fail with them. I also own 4 DPMS AR-15's but my M&P 15 is mt fave. I know a Glock is a fine product and reliable but they are SO butt ugly. LOL Merry Christmas to all and keep your powder dry.

When I put a M&P 40 on layaway Friday then get to shoot one of the range guns or possibly that same weapon 3 out of five of my guns not counting my rifles or shot guns will be S&W brand.

I feel like a kid at Christmas and can't hardly wait till Friday and just two days to go till I get to put this gun on layaway and get it next week as my own!

I agree on S&W's being the best gun out there. Most of mine are revolvers.
I have several friends that are big on collecting Colts, and I also have a few but still am partial to Smith and Wesson period.
Always were my favorite.

Yup, all my Smiths have never failed me...but then again neither have the SIG P226 I was issued, nor the HK P30 I now use failed either.
And I'm still waiting for the return if the 3rd Gen Smith autos, there's reliability for you. Dale

Put my M&P 40 sub compact on layaway today after shooting a full size range gun. I did pretty good with it and the recoil was surprisingly not much different than my M&P9 full size or my Glock 26 9 sub compact.

About the only real problem I had was that a box of ammo was $16.95 where as I took 100 rounds of 9mm Winchester that ran $23.01 tax included but I mostly will be using 9mm for practice at the range and 40 caliber for carry or self defense at home or in the vehicle!

Federal is good and at that price I will get some of it! I was really surprised that my $16.95 ammunition was aluminum cases but heck I am new to this caliber and have shot nothing but 9mm since 1982!

I have Glocks, Kimber, Kahrs and of course my S&W M&P and Air weight .38s... Love the feel of my Kahr K9 and custom E9 and I carry my CM9 as a BUG, but none of um give me the confidence that my M&P9c does when it's on my hip; just like today. Come what may, I know that I'm well armed and failures are not part of my concern. To me, the M&P is the quintessential combat handgun and you'd be hard pressed to do much better. Sure you can pay more for the Kimber and HK and so on, but are they really any better at launching a projectile down range than the M&P, not in my book they aren't. The trigger on my Kimber is very sweet, but I'm not looking to carry a range gun for defense. I want a rugged workhorse that will run every time no matter what the circumstances may dictate, and for me hands down that title goes to the M&P; and not so much for it's ability to function alone. I choose it for the grip over my Glocks and for it's reliability over the Kimber and Kahrs.

I've never had a single issue with my Kahrs, my Kimber, or my Glocks for that matter, but again, for round count, weight along with the overall ruggedness of the M&P. The heavy low round count Range beauties can guard the safe while my M&P guards what I consider the most important things in my life; me and mine...
