Default M&P 9mm Speed loader suggestions ???

I am having a bit of a problem finding a speed loader made for the M&P pistols. Any suggestions of brand, how well it may work and where to buy one would be helpful. I have both a compact and full size in the 9mm.

Without a doubt the "maglula uplula" loader works great for 9 mm, .40 S&W, and .45 Auto.

http://www.midwayusa.com/product/952...-polymer-black

It is also what S&W includes in their M&P "range kits" now.

I got one with my range kit, and honestly not sure how I would get all 15 rounds in without it.

Buy more mags. Load mags at home. With enough mags, you can shoot to the end of your credit card quickly.

+1 on the Uplula.

I usually depress the follower a little bit with my thumb and manually load the first round. Just don't like anything marring the follower.

A cheaper option that I seem to use even more than my Uplula is the $10 HKS 940. I think I use it more because it's easier to use when I don't have something to rest the magazine on.

I found it somewhere cheaper but here it is on a more common site...

Back when I was still shooting a 1911 I thought the guys using upLULA loaders were pantywaists. Then I bought my first gun with a staggered magazine. Changed my opinion real fast.

The UpLULA is definitely one of the first pistol accessories that you should acquire, maybe even two of them. I would not think of going to the range without mine in my vehicle or range bag!

Yep, I have an uplula in each ammo box I take to the range. I can load my mags to full without it, but it isn't much fun.

Nothing like bringing a variety of .45, 9mm, and .40's to the range and being able to use the same loader for all of them with the UPLULA. I've even managed to load .380s, but you need to be a little more careful.

+6 for Uplula! I have 2. I bought one and then when I got my M&P kit one came with it. I like the HKS, but they are weapon-specific. With Uplula, one loader for all mags. It even works on my Sig P232 mags!

Another vote for the Uplula. Funny name. But it works.

I can load a magazine faster than most people can without one.

The Uplula should always be bought in pairs. As soon as your friends use yours at the range, you'll be down to one.

Turn the magazine so that rear of the cartridge faces the metal tongue of the loader. Squeeze the loader so that the tongue pushes the rear of the cartridge. With that said, just use your thumb to slide out the rounds. Faster and easier.

I would be careful with your uplula though. I brought my uplula to the range the other day and all my buds had to try it.

I'm still renting guns at the range - meaning I get to try all kinds of nines - and the range requires that I use their ammo - but with a Maglula Uplula I can brun through 50-200 rounds per visit and still be out in half an hour - generally about 1 second per round and effortless.

(For those who are wondering why I rent - I have nines coming in for review - Glock 34, Beretta Px4 Storm, Walther PPQ and M&P Pro - renting other nines as well as closer examinations of this quartet gives me a fairly broad baseline for my observations and comparisons).

Default UpLula

I have been reading information about the MagLULA UpLULA, and found a couple of places that said it would not work with a S & W 7 round single stack magazine. This would leave out my M&P Shield. Has anyone tried with this size magazine?

No clue why it wouldn't work. I use it all the time on all of my Shield mags (9 mm). Never a problem.

My guess is you're seeing some internet rumor become part of the lexicon. Someone probably broke their mag or something by doing something wrong, and without really understanding what happened, blamed the Uplula (because it was new or the only thing they think they changed).

And someone ran with it, posted it on the internet, and it became the truth.

I've never had a problem. Been using it on all of my Shield mags since I purchased my gun and extra mags in October.

There's an adapter for single stack mags. Works flawlessly on all my double stacks (S&W,Sig, Beretta). Not so great on my 1911 mags. Too wobbly. I can image a 9mm being even more so than a .45.

Here in CA, we have 10 round limits. However, most mags use the same springs as the "high" capacity mags making them pretty hard to load.

Seems my M&P mags are especially hard for the 1st and last round.

Thanks everyone! We needed something that would work with my husband's M&P 9 and my Shield. Now we will get one!

Especially difficult with 12rnd compact mags, which -I am told- use the full size springs. Talk about hard to load!

UpLULA to the rescue!

It's a must have accessory. You'll wonder why you haven't bought one much sooner. You'll also end up going through your ammo supply at the range a whole lot quicker.

While I have never used any loader except the Uplula, the only thing I can even imagine being better is something with a motor that I just dump a box of ammo in and press a button that runs a motor.

I discovered the Uplula here on this forum, bought one, and have never looked for anything else. I didn't even think I wanted a loader when I bought it because I figured they would be just another PITA. They're not and I wouldn't be without mine now.

+1 for the uplula as well. I've used it on glock 19&23, sig, m&p FS and shield with no problems. Great tool. Every time I see someone loading their mags by hand at a match I try to load mine within visual range of them and always get a What the F face and let them use the maglula since I'm done loading way before they are. Once they use it they ask how much and where.

The uplula sounds like a really great loading tool. I have a Belgium made Browning High Power that is difficult to load .

This thread was interesting, however in my way of thinking there price of over $30.00 is somewhat rediculious for a product in this type of catogery.
It's an injectied molded product, not machined steel !

Please don't shoot the messenger, this is just how I feel.

Has anyone mentioned the Uplula? (lol) I'm thinking of getting a second just in case I lost mine. That's how spoiled I am.

Well worth its weight in polymer. Don't leave home without it.
