Default Sanity check (22 & 9/40)...

Ok, so i caught the sickness by getting a 15-22, then taking a CCW class.... i am planning on adding to my ailment

I know i want to get a M&P22, but am stuck on whether i should get a M&P9/40 at the same time. i am sold on the m&p line, especially paired with the s&w customer support. i've done quite a bit of reading, and am still trying to make up my mind on a fs or compact. also trying to decide if i want a 40, and purchase a 9mm drop in, or just get the 9. this will be my first handgun, but i have shot a few.

just want to see what the consensus is for getting the 22 AND 9/40 at the same time.

Unless you get discount for buying two (2) guns at once, I see no reason to push for the purchase. Take some time and research to ensure you get what you want. I have a 45c and 9c. Instead of the 9c, I should have gotten the 40c and a conversion option to go 9mm. But that ship has since sailed for me. Not for you though I never wanted a full size M&P because the bigger the gun, the harder to conceal. I live in FL, so the weather is pleasant most of the year.

I would go for the M&P .40 compact. You can purchase a regular stock 9mm barrel from S&W or a third party retailer and have two pistols for a fraction of the cost. I've ordered my barrel through midwayUSA and am waiting for it to be back in stock so they can ship it to me. I love my compact and am very pleased with my purchase.
