Default LaserMax Guide Rod Laser Sight

Anyone with the M&P 9mm/40cal using the guide rod sight? If so, are you happy with it?

Talking LaserMax guide rod

Have the same question but haven't been able to find an answer for the M&P. Lots of Sig & Glock comments. Look at Amazon.com one rating claims Lasermax does not fit newer models?? I have $120 freebie $$ at Amazon and am going to probably order one. If I do I will post results.
M&P FS 357 sig w/40 cal. and S&W 9mm barrels.

I've decided to go with the M&P 40 w/CT laser grips from budspolicesupply.com They are currently out of stock, but it is listed for $548 new...worth the wait to me. I highly recommend this website for LE and military.

Default LaserMax guide rod

Well I did it! Got the LaserMax guide rod model LMS-MP9F for my M&P 357FS. I have an LE kit that came with the .357 & 40 cal. barrels w/3 mags in 2010. I also purchased the S&W 9mm barrel. The Pistol was produced Sept. 2008. (this plays a role in which guide rod fits). I did a boat load of research before making this purchase so if you have any questions I will try to answer them. Called LaserMax, S&W, and the vendor I purchased from. I am pleasantly pleased with the laser. It is right on target and functioned perfect with both the 9mm barrel( 'bout 250 rounds), and the 40 cal (150 rounds) no FTE etc. The switch works great it is intergrated with the new take down lever provided and it is on the "right" side for us lefties! I had/still have some concerns with the spring but you have no choice. The M&P has had 'bout 2500-3000 rounds through it with all three barrels total, mostly the 40 cal. which is my favorite. The pictures show some wear around the laser lens after the first 400 rounds or so. I will update after more use, figured I'ed throw this out there now, and report back later. That is a HiVis front sight you see in the pictures.(Hard to get a shot of the "Pulsing" laser!) Overall a real nice set-up, and would recommend it.

For sure keep us updated. I always thought these were by far the best idea for a laser. Just wish it didn't cost so much and they made a green one (haven't checked for awhile so maybe they do now). I haven't studied the difference in real world applications if the green really is an improvement over the red for how most people would use they're laser.

Please keep us updated. I'd say even when this dies down, even updating with a new post every 3-6 months would help people out on making a decision.

Well, considering that this thread is over a year and a half old, and that bsaz hasn't posted at all in that same period, it's unlikely he'll respond.

So, I'll give you sound advice you don't want to hear.

The LaserMax guide rod laser works. If you want it to help with training trigger control or as a toy at the range, by all means get it. However, if you want it for self defense or to improve your accuracy, you're wasting your time.

Thanks. Didn't even think to check his post history.

I'm not personally interested in one of these, and I'm aware Lasermax doesn't make them for the M&P's any longer since the guide rod redesign. But I have a friend that is set on buying a used one from someone and I was looking for some first hand reviews to share with him.
