Default M&P 22 with Federal and CCI Blazer bulk ammo

I put 200 rounds of each through the gun yesterday and had zero failures to fire with either ammo. The total round count on the gun now is about 600 rounds and consists of RP T-Bolt, CCI Stingers, and Winchester Wildcat. I have three magazines and I did have 4 stovepipes (2 with each brand) that did not seem to be magazine dependent.

On the really plus side, I started concentrating a lot on trigger pull and I'm using a modified sort of hold that puts my left elbow kind of right below my sternum and into my body and both hands wrapped around the grip. This puts the strong right side arm cocked at the elbow. Sounds uncomfortable but I was dropping them all into a 6" target at 25 yards off-hand like this. I shake like the dickens and this hold has really helped me out. I love shooting this thing.

The M&P22 is a very reliable pistol with just about any ammo on the market. I've shot Federal bulk out of mine too with no trouble. federal 710 40 grn solid are the most accurate of the inexpensive ammo.

I had a lot of problems with my M&P22 digesting Federal Bulk Pack 550 copper coated hollow points, my favorite cheap ammo. It worked in everything else to perfection. I tried the Winchester Wild Cats, just great, Remington Thunderbolt, again, great. CCI mini mags were great as were their Velocitors. After roughly 1500 rounds through the gun, I again tried the above mentioned Federals again tonight. Out of 110 rounds, I had one failure to extract, one stove pipe and two failure to feeds. I think it is definitely ammo related. The stove pipes and failure to feeds seemed like there wasn't enough poop in the round to fully cycle the gun. But after the break in on the gun the failure count was way less than at first. I was having five out of ten failures when the gun was new with the Federal ammo. Much better now. I use your hold and a variation with both arms extended. This little .22 really helps me with the mechanics of shooting, which I try very hard to transfer to my M&P9. The M&P22 is truly a classic unto itself. I really am glad I purchased one. Good shooting and good to see your post. Just an amusing sideline. When ordering my new M&P22 I made a comment that with the threaded barrel, I could be like James Bond and run around with a silenced gun, and maybe I should use that name on the paperwork. Believe it or not, my serial number is 007XXX. How's that for a coincidental laugh.

My favorite as well, although I have not one problem in almost 500 rounds thru my M&P22.
