If you don't mind having a safety on your 9mm, check out Brownells. They have the 9mm with safety for $315 - use the code for $30 off of $300 and then they will apply a $10 FFL fee. Gets the gun down to $295 shipped - you then have to worry about the transfer fee (as with any other deals). Of course, if your state charges sales tax, it won't be that good of a deal (that is what happens to me with those PSA offers ).

When you said "Out the door", you really meant "Out the door not counting taxes (or transfer fees) but also after the $75 rebate gets back in 8 to 12 weeks", right? Usually when you post "out the door", it means what you paid that day, before rebates and such. Or did you really mean to say you paid $245 in total and will also get a $75 rebate on top of it?

Actually, you should really post the real price before backing out the $75 rebate - or did the shop go ahead and take that $75 off of it in store?

$320 from PSA. Local FFL charges $25. No taxes when you buy from PSA so in the end I'm paying $270.

I bought from SOS, they say 5-7 business days and it shipped on the 7th. But to be fair they had a disclaimer stating longer shipping times due to the SW rebate sales.

While they are super dependable and have amazing products and pricing they have made a reputation for being BRUTALLY slow sometimes. In todays world, everybody wants it NOW. They have been known to take a week to ten days to ship and if you get an upper they specifically state it will be at least three weeks and they use everybit of it.
...but then again, sometimes they step up and surprise ya

I bought my two 45s last Thursday from PSA; hard to beat 224.99 (after the rebate, yes) plus my local $20 FFL fees. Ill see if she'll make me a deal doing both at the same time...
Then I saw last Friday that Midwest put S&W mags on sale 30% off, so I went ahead and ordered two. I own lots of 9mm, these will be my first 45s. I've been hammering Youtube review videos - which is like Pavlov's dog watching the food channel...
I sent PSA an email today politely asking if they could give me an update on my order status since it had been "processing" for 2-3 business days, and VOILA! I got an email not an hour later that they were "shipped" UPS two day. Heh. Good things come to he who waits... or sends an email!

I just ordered one from PSA today also. I wanted the thumb safety 45 version and I got the e-mail today that this model was the daily deal for $299.99 so I bit. We'll see how long they take.

I have never bought a gun online ..... until tonight. I saw that PSA had the Shield 45 with manual safety for $299 and just had to do it. $17 to ship to my FFL, $25 to transfer, and then the $75 rebate from S&W.
Very excited. Had been looking at the M&P 45c but decided on the Shield which is about half the cost. That's an amazing deal and my first S&W semi auto.

While I like PSA, they tack on shipping ($17) to this deal and then if you are in GA (like me), they add on sales tax and I still have to pay a transfer fee to boot.
But for all of you guys that don't have to pay the sales tax, it is a pretty good deal for a non-safety 9.

Geez, maybe if we all wait long enough, S&W will just give us all free guns...lol.
I just picked up the Shield 45 for $319 out the door. I see some of you got better deals than me, but i dont really care, its a h.e.l.l of a great gun for what i paid. The recoil is amazingly soft..! Not harsh at all. But that grip, to damn aggressive for me, talon tape on the way.

Palmetto State Armory has the .45 Shield at the lowest price I have seen. $299. That price is BEFORE the rebate. I could not pass it up. Even with shipping and transfer fee beats any price in my area.

I ordered the 45 from PSA for $299.99, shipping was $17, transfer is $10 and I have to pay a $6 fee for a background check here. So my total is $332.99 before the rebate and my final cost will be $257.99 when everything is said and done.
I didn't really even need or want one but too good to pass up for that price.

Just an FYI for those ordering from PSA. I ordered my 45 Shield Monday night, 5-8, and it shipped Thursday the 11th so wait time isn't too bad.

Yeah PSA has been very prompt with this weapon. I assume the longer waits are when they get a weapon from their suppliers to fulfill an order.

I did the same as wyatterrp and got my M&P Shield in 9mm with thumb safety from Brownells out the door for $294.99 (see below), $219.99 after $75 S&W rebate, and $249.99 total after $30 FFL transfer fee.
If you want the 9mm WITH the thumb safety (or you don't care either way), Bownells is the better deal by $12. If you want the 9mm WITHOUT the thumb safety, take the PSA deal.
I didn't look too hard, but it looks like PSA has the best deals for shields in .40S&W ($296.99 out the door) and .45ACP ($316.99 out the door). I would double check this, though.
Brownells: M&P Shield 9MM WITH Thumb Safety
Coupon code: L9Q
$399.99 | Normal Price
$314.99 | Sale Price
$324.99 | $10 Brownell FFL Processing Fee
$294.99 | -$30 from coupon
$294.99 | $0 shipping from coupon
$294.99 | $0 tax (Texas)
PMA: M&P Shield 9MM WITHOUT Thumb Safety
$379.99 | Normal Price
$289.99 | Sale Price
$306.99 | $17.00 shipping
$306.99 | $0 tax (Texas)
Both of these beat the best prices I could find on Gun Broker NIB buy-nows which was about $330 out the door (most have high shipping costs and CC fees). But of course Gun Broker is constantly changing.
(Subtract $75 from above totals to include S&W rebate and don't forget to add your FFL transfer fee)

Yesterday Cabela's had 10% off anything. I have lots of Cabela's bucks. After taxes and rebate, my net cost was $75. I might have saved a few $$ if I had gone with Brownell's but I couldn't have used the Cabela's bucks. I'm happy. Now I just need to order a pocket holster two more mags and a mag carrier.

Yesterday (5/17) I scored a Shield 9 from Brownell's. Already have a Shield 45 but could not pass on the deal:
Sale Price $314.99
Brownell fee $10.00
Shipping $0.00
Tax $0.00
Brownell Promo -$30.00
FFL Transfer $20.00
S&W Rebate -$75.00
Total out of pocket: $239.99

I was debating the XD-S vs Shield for weeks. This awesome deal made the decision for me. Like you said, too good to pass up.

Having owned both I can say I you picked the better gun.
Plus, Springfield doesn't care about gun rights.

Shield 9mm. $270 all in (factoring in rebates) via independent ffl. Brownells to Wisconsin.. No sales tax and Brownells is a member of Ebates.com which is 2.5% back on everything.
