Extreme Shock rounds in M&P 40c?
Does anyone have any opinions on these rounds, are they good for the M&P as a +p round? I usually shoot win white box at the range, but am thinking about these for a home defense round in my 40c.

Stay away from that junk. Get yourself some Hornady TAP for the 40. Quality ammo.
Cheers

Derek --
Extreme Shock ammo?! Are you really in the Army?
Winchester Ranger-T 180gr will do very well. Hornady has too many feeding and chamber issues in some pistols for me to recommend.

This is why I am interested in it.
The Box O' Truth #23 - ExtremeShock™ Ammo and the Box O' Truth - Page 1
I am considering it due to the proximity of other house and concerns of over penetration. What are your concerns with this ammo?... and yes I served.
Thanks!

I've always used Federal Premium Hydra-Shok JHP, but my house is a lot closer to others than it used to be (and I mean A LOT closer).

It's a lot of hype plain and simple. This stuff has been cussed and discussed repeatedly. There is some info from Doc Roberts and IWBA I believe, that pretty much dispells all the claims about this ammo by the manufactuer.
I'd go with a load that meets the FBI and IWBA criteria.
If I can find the info on the extreme shok I'll put a link here.If somebody beats me to it that will be good.

Remington Golden Saber is my defensive round, but remember there is no "magic" bullet, and no bullet is any good, if you don't hit your target. .

Personally i would go with 180 grain ranger..the stuff just works plain and simple. Also i tend to stay away from ammo with words like Extreme, and Brightly colored bullets.
