Waiting times for new M&P9 purchases?
I put in an order for a M&P9 pro 5" last week. I get a call today telling me that i am 34th in line for that pistol and pretty much no timeline on how long the wait will be.
This is my first time buying a new handgun, is this a common occurrence? I already sold my current gun, so this kinda blows.

Depends on where you ordered it from.
Grabagun had them in stock last week but they are all gone now.

I think the sheer popularity of the 5" Pro is just flat making it scarce. I've seen the 4.25" Pro available at Bud's Gun Shop which is where I bought mine. You are just going to have to scour for one and jump on it the moment you see it. I finally found my M&P45 in Flat Dark Earth that I'd been looking at forever...people want the M&Ps and I certainly can't blame them. Plus, with this being a big election year I think it is only going to get worse.

Did you order from a local gun shop?
My experience is that the average LGS gets very limited qtys from the distributors, which will definitely have an affect when there is a high local demand.
Order some place on-line.

besides Bud's what are some other places to order online that are reputable?
There is a pawn shop down the street from my work that does FFL transfers for $10.

Looks like the doggy was thinking of trading that chewy ball for those chewy grips.

The chocolate lab in my avatar patiently shreds the fuzz off a tennis ball..... and leaves it all over the living room.

I'm in southeastern Wisconsin and the only one that I could find available for immediate purchase was a counter display one at a LGS. I grabbed it right away.
All the other places had them on indefinite back-order. I'd rather have gotten a non-handled one but it doesn't matter since it is a champ after my first range trip with it yesterday.
