Default VTAC

My LGS has two VTACs in 9mm in stock and selling for $585. Now I have two M&P9 Full Size, a M&P9 Compact, and a M&P45 Compact. I like the sights but am worried about some of the issues the VTAC had in the past (fiber optic falling out and finish wearing off). Have the issues been resolved or ongoing?

Easy, buy both VTAC 9s that are available - then replace the sights with trijicon HD night sights.

Sell the VTAC sights on ebay for cheap (less than $200) - I've seen them sell for $185.

I can only speak to my experience but my VTAC's finish and sights have been holding up fine.

The finish does show holster 'wear' marks but so far all of it wipes off after a cleaning.

I carry it daily and it has just shy of 2000 rds through it.

YMMV

So I bought the VTAC. I love the sights. Speaking of sights, they are much taller than the standard sights. What's a good holster with a generous sight channel? I'm thinking of a Safariland ALS.

The sights are not tall enough that it would cause a problem during a draw. Typical channel cutouts for standard sights are well within the height of the VTAC sight.
