how many EDC a spare mag
I am trying to find out how many people carry a spare mag with them and what mag holders people are using for concealed carry. I am looking for something that hides well and is fast. This is something I have asked all over the net and it must be one of the best kept secrets as no one has responded. anyone?

I always carry at least one spare magazine in a holder. Of the holders I own, I mostly use a Galco snap-on OWB for my Shorty Forty or a Safariland metal clip slide-on OWB with my Government Model.

I carry a spare mag with my 9c and my 45c, you never know if a magazine might fail. I picked up a couple Gerber multi-tool pouches off of EBay for under $10 that I carry a spare magazine in.

I carry at least one with my M&P9. I found a OWB cell phone holder at Home Depot that fits 2 17 round mags and doesn't look like a mag pouch. Works well with my new Remora Holster.

ALWAYS have a spare magazine
In my many years of training witnessing thousands of guns that for one reason or another wouldn't go "bang", the single most common failure item was the mags. How long to swap a magazine? See? Fixed!
(more ammo is never a bad thing, either.)

Double mag pouches either on my person with my 40C with 15 rounders and in a special place a full size 45 with two 10 rounders! Doesn't every one do this?
There are too many threats to not do so, and I do not take those threats lightly, I will be well armed at all times!

I mostly carry a 4513, so there is a single stack spare mag in my pocket. When I carry my M&P the mag is a little wider so I use a flip-top holder on my belt.

I carry two extra 10 round mags for my M&P45 in a Remora twin mag holder. I also usually have an extra 10 rounder in my backpack. And the reason is, you never know when a natural disaster might hit, or some other event, which can limit you to getting to your stash of ammo at home. So I have 41 rounds with me which is better than being stuck with only 10 rounds.

When I carried a 3953 all the time I carried an extra mag in my back pocket. Now that I carry a Glock 19 a lot I carry an extra mag in a carrier or pocket depending on my pants.

If I tried to carry mags with more than 10 rounds I'd become a criminal, so instead, I carry a spare.

My carry guns are all single stack and I use a Desantis Mag-Packer in my left front pocket. It's slim, keeps the mag oriented, free of debris yet comes out easy enough.

They do make them for double stack mags as well if that's what you have.

The only semi-autos I carry are Glocks. I have a G22, G23 and G27. My favorite holster for belt carry is the Glock Sport/Combat OWB holster. I also carry their single mag pouch. My reload, no matter which one I carry is always a 15 round G22 mag.
Right now I am dressed to go out on a surveillance assignment. It's fairly warm here in Iowa, so I am carrying my G23 in my Kramer Confidant shirt holster. Have a G22 mag under the other arm. This setup is VERY comfortable, and a lot quicker than you can imagine. It has become my every day carry method in warm weather.

Mitch Rosen 5DM
My Every Day Carry includes two-magazines in a Mitch Rosen 5DM pouch. I have both a single and a double pouch, and the double is more comfortable to wear all day long. Also, all of our law enforcement trainers teach us to carry TWO reloads with us. It is not about the total number of rounds that you are carrying as much as it is about being able to top off your pistol twice; it is a tactical choice.
Like some of the above, I also carry two additional magazines in each of my cars, along with a Mini-Mag flashlight, in a cheap clip-on multi-tool pouch.
The Mitch Rosen 5DM pouch is an extremely comfortable and secure pouch and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND it. Rosen Product Line

I carry a spare mag even with my 19+one XDm. I like the ammo amount and like someone said, when the magazine fails, the spare is only a quick change away. I carry it in my shoulder holster. I carry spares less in my other autoloaders for some unknown reason.
