customized/modified M&P pistol picture thread
I love to modify my guns. Stippling, sights, mag base plates, extended mag release, ect. Lets see pics of the modified M&P'S
It could be anything! Tac lights, home made parts, shaved grips, diff finishes, diff color grips, stainless parts, anything. Show it off!
I will soon have a m&p 9 to add to this thread stippling will be the first thing

Of course! Who doesn't! Every M&P I have has some form of stippling on it along with a thumb safety delete and a beavertail bob. I'll post a family photo on my next day off.

The Shield is stock but my full-size 9 has a Damato grip, Apex FSS trigger, and Ameriglo pro i-dot sights.

Below is the stippling I have done (previous owner did back strap and under cut the trigger guard). I am dropping it off at 1:00 today to have serrations added to the top and refinishing!! Will post after pics.
Although I have to admit, there is much more wear on the pistol since these pics and I think I will miss the worn look a little bit.
TeaQue, I really like that back strap on your pistol.

Here's the M&P 9fs.
I removed the thumb safety, undercut the trigger guard, bobbed the beavertail, and stippled the snot out of it. The pic doesn't do it justice, but as promised I'll throw a family photo up soon.

I've had Robar apply their NP3 finish on three of my M&Ps with the Shield being next. Great finish that I highly recommend. This finish is extremely durable showing no wear over the years.

Top photo is a M&P 9MM Pro Series with APEX trigger, Trijicon night sights, radiation symbol and serrations added to top of slide, nickle boron finish on slide, some stippling, polished feed ramp and internals and painted frame.
Bottom photo is also an M&P 9MM Pro Series with APEX competion trigger, milled slide to accept Dr Optic red dot. My boys call this my ninja gun... this is a great range/steel shooter.

2 ways I did it.
The first time (on the 9) I just went at it with the sanding drum on a dremel until I had the rough shape I wanted then hand sand and file to fine tune.
The other way I went (faster results but BE CAREFUL) was to use a cutoff wheel to get the bulk of the unwanted portion off. Shape with sanding drum, fine tune by hand sanding and files.
A little black Kiwi shoe polish rubbed in will even out the color.

You can purchase tan/FDE backstraps from several vendors. S&W being one of them.

Maybe just a few close-up pictures of the beavertail. Where the material has been removed.
Thanks!

I hope this helps a bit. Here's one from the side:
and one from the back:
That's the .45 mid that I recently purchsed. It's not 100% "finished" but that should give you an idea of where you're going.

Derek, that looks good. This allows you to use compact mags, correct?
Then you can still use standard mags with the insert.

Thank you! I didnt cut it that far. Thats a little too short for my liking. The 10 rd mags are 3/4 metal magazine and 1/4 plastic baseplate. I just shortened the baselplate.
I recently added hogue grips and bobbed the beavertail

I just got my M&P9c back from James at XD-hs 2000 and couldn't be happier with the work he did. Got the slide refinished in OD Green, AmeriGlo night sights, and Apex DCAEK trigger kit.

You guys are dangerous, I knew I should not have opened this thread lol. went out and bought a soldering gun today and started doing some stippling. I'm going to do the contact points on the gun as well but just have one more of the back straps to go as I get used to how to do it since the back straps can be replaced, not so much for the gun itself so I want to be sure Im ready to do it before I do it to the actual gun.
