Shield done-NP3-XS-Talon
Put my Talon grips on and they look and feel great, I highly recommend these. As most here know, I'm a big proponant of Robars NP3 finish, we'll see how the XS sights work out. I bought a 2'nd Shield for my wife but after she shot mine she didn't care for it. She's a new shooter and is more comfortable with revolvers. With that in mind I may be selling her Shield which is unfired since leaving the factory and has been to Robar for their NP3 finish. Just have to decide if I want to sell it or keep it as a backup.

I really like that NP3 finish. Not only is it eye appealing, but it's a great finish as well.

Bearfoot the difference is huge, the pistol feels much more secure with the Talon grips. I think if your hands became wet like from sweat or rain, this is where these grips really show their worth.

I just put the 2'nd Shield in the classifieds, I know this will go quickly on an auction site but would prefer it going to a forum member.

Yeah, that looks sweet! Please let us know how the XS sights work out at the range. I've been wanting to get either the Trijicon HD night sights or the XS sights, and seeing that the HD sights are a few months out I might be getting these. I'm really curious as to their claims of faster sight acquisition... probably just advertising speak, but I haven't heard from anyone that actually has experience with a set.
Thanks for sharing!

Mike,
I'm going to get to the range this week and will report back. If I don't like the XS sights I will be switching them out to either Trijicons or back to the original factory sights.
The 2'nd Shield that I just put in the classifieds is going to a fellow forum member.

Mike,
I did a range session yesterday afternoon with the new XS sights. And after a couple hundred rounds I decided I don't like them. I'm taking them off and going back to the original sights. The XS sights are designed for fast target acquisition and they work okay close in. But shooting close in you don't really need the sights anyway. For precision accuracy at anything over 5/7 yards the original factory sights are much better IMO. So to anyone looking to replace their original factory sights I'd opt for Trijicons or a fiber optic setup over the XS. Some guys really like the XS sights but after trying a set I'm not one of them.

Thanks for two things. Selling your gun to a fellow member and your honest opinion on XS sights. I am NOT knocking the company or the people that use them, but I totally agree that they may not be necessary at the ranges they are designed for. I recently bought a laserlyte cartridge and so far I am very happy with it. It has allowed me to practice point shooting and I am surprised at how accurate one can be even from the hip. I am sure the XS system is beneficial for some, but I am trying to actually to ignore my sight at ranges of 30" and closer. The Trijicons or Ameriglo will get a looksee from me when they are available for my Shield.

Thanks for the info! I'll hold out for the Trijicon HD sights, I think.

Trijicons are a factory option on all the other M&P models so a set specific to the Shield can't be far off.
