M&P Backorder Question
Hello guys,
I've had a M&P 45 4 1/2 inch in Dark Earth on order at my LGS for six weeks now. Have any of you experienced long back orders with S&W or is this unusual? I've sent an email to Smith inquiring about order dates but haven't received a reply.
This will be my first S&W auto and I'm very anxious to give it a spin.

Long? 6 months on BG380, 3 months on 9mm Shield, 4 months on 40 Pro, yeah I'm used to it.

M&P 45 backorder
I just ordered an M&P 45 full size and it is on backorder. Does anyone have any idea how long I will wait?
This is the first M&P for me and I really want it.

Because of the current buying frenzy everyone is out of stock on everything "high capacity" and "black rifle" so your wait will probably be a while. Same with mags

I am at the 12 month mark for a S&W 1911 (108282).
It has been so long I wrote S&W in November asking if they still made 1911s, never received a response.

Shooting Times reported that both S&W and Ruger reported that their entire 2013 production has already been allocated. So that does not mean your not getting your gun, but any dealers that need to place order for guns not already on order are SOL, at least for 2013.

I would be extremely pleased to receive the pistols we ordered in 2011!
S&W has the bad habit of introducing and advertising pistols that are far beyond their means to deliever.

Smith and Wessons 2012 sales up 48% over 2011, and this report was posted before the shootings at the Sandy Hook School. We all know what has happened to sales with the talk of bans. Cannot even find ammo, yet alone guns.

I couldn't find a full sized M&P so I picked up an SR40C today at my LGS. I was told that S&W has not been able to keep up with their manufacturing. I asked if they ever got any Shields in and he said they were bumped out at least one to one and a half years. That doesn't mean they aren't being shipped, just that next years allocations have already been determined. They will continue to trickle out to those dealers they have commitments to.
